Civilization Request Thread

Hmm... maybe that's where I should dump the leftovers of the design archive?

Djoser would be great, but would need something related to Great Engineers (Imhotep).

Yeah; I would use Djoser to free up the obligatory production/wonder focus that is otherwise shared between Ramesses and Hatshepsut, so that Hatshepsut could be entirely devoted to Trade+Growth.

Requesting Rome split

--------------
Rome under Augustus Caesar:

Augustus Caesar - All Roads Lead To Rome - Each city connected to the capital by road increases production, gold, science, and culture generation by 2% empire-wide and 3% in the capital. May establish city connections with other major civilizations and city-states by road. ((Hidden) Messenger of the Gods pantheon belief is doubled)

UU - Unaltered Legion

UI - Roman Road - Replacement for the road constructed in half the time. x1.33 movement.

----------------------
Rome under Julius Caesar:

Julius Caesar - Veni, Vidi, Vici - Roman Generals generate culture (5) and decrease the cost of adopting social policies by 10%. Garrisoned Roman Generals increase city efficiency (+15% to gold, production and culture).

UU - Unaltered Legion

UU - Roman General, replacement for the Great General. Aside from the normal effects of the Great General, it grants the Great Generals I and Cover promotions to nearby units (including itself). It may carry up to 2 identical land units, giving the Roman General the movement, and combined combat strength and defense of the units stationed [minus x% times 15 where x is the number of units stationed], but rendering the stationed units useless (they still cost maintenance).

Mongol Empire

UB: Ger - replacing the Stable. Stable's abilities and +10 XP for Mounted Units.

UWW (unique world wonder): Lingqu Canal. +1 :c5production: Production in every tile next to a River in all cities. City must be built next to a River. Prerequisite Techs: Engineering.
Or
UB: Pavillion -replacing the Zoo. Zoo abilities and +15% :c5culture: Culture.

Okay, problems:
1. Kublai's UA is weak and useless. Three tiles? Its not enough to make it powerful.
2. The Ger: Casimir's ducal stable provides higher bonus, its simply weaker.
3. Qin's UA: the first part is OP. However, it could work if its the only thing they get.
4. Unique world wonders are overpowered. Again, if there's an extremely good reason to include them, it could work.
5. The pavilion: how can you give Qin Shi Huang a UB from the renaissance era? Its too late for him.

1. Ok. X tiles. Put your number...
2. The Ger: + Y XP. Put your number.
3, 4. Why overpowered? Look at yourself in the glass: UA:Altneuland
Receive 1 extra world congress delegate per every 3 Declarations of friendship you have. May build Holy sites, Landmarks and Citadels in neutral territory to claim it. Each citizen in a city reduces cost of buying tiles by 3%(up to 30%). Free Nadvan in industrialization.
5. It's only your subjective sentiment (and everything else)

X.... 5 tiles.
About the ger;: 25 XP. Assuming that it has to have an experience bonus.
But would you be able to work those landmarks\ holy sites\ citadels? No. Unlike river tiles that your cities claim, which you can work. Besides, there's the point bonus.
Well, perhaps. But yet, Qin isn't a renaissance era leader.

I have to say though, that's some nice ideas. But try giving civs more than one bonus in the UA.

Simple UA isn't a bad UA.

Hey. I dont know if any modders read this thread regularly, but I found myself enjoying the redesign of some ancient/classical era focused civilizations (Greece, Byzantion, Rome) and I am posting the ideas so thar anybody may find it useful. I hope you enjoy. Please provide feedback.

ROMAN EMPIRE

Julius Caesar
UA: Lex Iulia - WHen destroying a barbarian camp, may spend 500 gold to turn it into a city.
UU: Legion (=)
UB: Forum - replaces market/ available at mathematics/ cost 100/ gold equal to market.

STRATEGY
:c5influence::Greece: Trad with cs by sea; protect then and your trade rotes; ally them. Buld agora to speed trade incom. Increase your social policies by destroying your hoplites.

:c5culture:Byzantium: found a religion; build byzatnine church; to win culturaly chose the Frescoes ability but each ability is +/- focused for a type of win. Follow that path.

:c5science:Rome (Augustus): increase GP generation. Found cities with them. defend with legions; expancd a lot. Try to win for science. You have basically a good bonus on city foundation which allow you to expand.

:c5war:Rome (Julius) - mix of honor and liberty to expand without settlers. Forums may help this early game expansion. Then use your expandion to win by conquest. Legions good for barbarians camps.

You could ignore it, or you could learn from it.... Even though I don't agree with the criticism that some people, like Urdnot_Scott gave my designs, I learnt from it.

@Ip_04: that's... a bit too unique, don't you think?
