Civilization Request Thread

Can you code? Theres a good thousand or so ideas floating around on this site but they dont get made because there are few good coders and fewer good artists.

I can code things. I'm not by any means amazing, but there's always opportunity to get better. Perhaps the most complicated thing I've done was making a UA for a civ that planted a city in the spot of a barbarian encampment when you took it over (or if it's too close to another city, which is very rare, it gives you a settler).

I find the most boring bit to be the art, I can never be bothered with it so all the civs I've made as practice and not bothered to release still have the flags of their replacements and the base models :p

Another one? Why?

Different leader, representing a different time period. His current one is Pius IX (who reigned in the 19th century), the planned new one is Innocent III (who was way back in the 12th and 13th centuries).

Hi all, is me again.

Still the concept needs to be fix. hope you guys can spend some time to take a look and tell me what you think.

Not sure should i post a new thread in Civilization Design Resources board.
should i?

Sigh. 31 img limited reach. sorry guys.

Yeah different leader, different focus. Part of me wants to see a Julius III Papal States, simply because of this quote (which can be heard when you enter the Renaissance era), "Do you not know, my son, with what little understanding the world is ruled?" –Pope

Lolwut what kind of question is that? He wants to do another one, like he has done with his 125357675687 different Russias.

Yeah I know that if he wants to make another mode it's because he feels like it! I was asking to see if there was a specific reason for it.

There's also a plan for Borgia which should be interesting.

What house Borgia? Yeah that would be interesting to see what mod he can make out of that.

That Taiwan Civilization UA could be drastically reworded, I think something like:

UA: International Trade routes increase Great People generation by 5% while Empire is happy. When a Great Person is consumed, your closest city has an increase to all yields for 20 turns.

That 27 Brigade unit should be rethought. If you've lost more than half your cities you should probably consider just quitting at that point since there's pretty much no way you're gonna get back from that.

I like that Night Market, reminds me of Colonialist Legacies Mexico's Hacienda somehow. Why is it an improvement and not a building though?

I feel like it'd make more sense as a... well, a Market replacement.

Yeah, a separate thread for this would be nice.

Hi, these are some ideas for a new civ. I'm not experienced enough to know how to make the numbers balanced in the game, so i will use letters instead:

Civilization: French Republic

Leader: Maximilien Robespierre

UA: Spreading Revolution. Can annex rival cities with more than X :c5unhappy: Unhappiness for :c5gold: Gold if you have over Y% :c5culture: Cultural Influence with them.

UU: Pamphleteer* (replaces Missionary). May enter rival territory. Spread :c5unhappy: Unhappiness in rival cities.

(* I prefer the old-fashioned Publicist, but it could lead to confusion.)

UB: Échafaud. Allow you to execute :c5citizen: Citizens in Large Cities in exchange of :c5faith: Faith, :c5gold: Gold and :c5goldenage: Golden Age points.

Hi again!

As many of you might know, I'm currently working on a Rome split - between Pompey, Julius Caesar and Augustus, focusing on their respective periods, and I'd like to hear your suggestions for Pompey's mechanics, as I've still struggling with the UA, and the UU, Consul - a Great Magistrate and without CID, a Great General or a Great Merchant replacement.

Forum is going to give a unique resource (from a pool of 5) when built in a conquered city and the design is done. I'd want the uniques of the Roman Republic to reflect its three focuses - the Res Publica, the centralized trade, and imperialism. With the focus on the more civil things.

Thanks in advance for help - I'll have the best ideas arranged to the mod (provided I won't come up with something awesome before, which probably won't happen), with a credit, of course! And if it has support for JFD's CiD, the better! You may take this as a sort of a design competition, then. ;)

EDIT: Okay, pretty much drafted the general idea.
SPQR - Pompey (Cursus Honorum): Get Great General (Consul) points whenever a Great Person is born. The capital gains Food according to the number of Luxury Resources you possess.

Okay when you say, "The capital gains Food according to the number of Luxury Resources you possess." Is it all the luxury resources that you have in your capital's territory? Or all the luxury resources that you have in your empire's territory?

The whole empire. The amount is quite small but it should encourage you to expand and resource-grab a lot for a more powerful capital.
