Civilization Request Thread

I just came up with an idea for Sokoto. I hope it's faithy, conquesty, and sciencey enough.

Spoiler :

Sokoto: Usman dan Fodio
Amir al-Mu’minin: Eliminating a civ provides a free technology and a Great Prophet. If a Foreign Missionary spread religions to one of your cities, the Missionary is automatically killed.
Waqf: Unique Improvement that provides +1 Faith, Gold, and Food.
Whenever a worker creates one, receive a small boost of science (Bonus Increased Every Era). Unlocked at Civil Service. Bonus doubled at Industrialization.
Tariqa: Replaces University. Besides usual bonus, Units built in a city with a Tariqa gets +1 Movement for every city they conquered (Max: +2) and get an amount of faith for how damage they received attacking a city.

No Unique Units?

This is a really cool design. I'm not sure I like such a militaristic civ lacking a UU, though. Also, the UA name should probably be "The Fulani Jihads" as suggested by others, especially since Amir al-Mu'minin is already the name of MC's Ayyubids' UA.

No Unique Units?

A civ doesn't technically need a UU, although all Firaxis civs do and some people consider it bad design not to.

Oh didn't realize that . I'll change it. Well I do agree that a UU would make sense, but I feel like the UB and the UA help with it. But yes, replacing a UI with a UU would be better.

But the UU thing, I agree a UU is a great part of a civ, but a civ that I was designing has almost nothing on them. They're raiders and yet there was nothing on their military. The only things I can find were two buildings related to their culture and lifestyle. a UU is great when there's enough information. I will look for a UU for Sokoto and make the UI 3rd Component.

'
EDIT: Added a UU. Glad you liked the design :).

Ok, redesign for the Aesir. Please give feedback:
Odin Allfather - The Aesir
Gain 20% production during wartime and +1 faith for every ally when you declare war. Lose 20% production during peace and -3 faith when you declare peace.

UU: Einherji
Unique. There is a corresponding einherji unit for every age, which gains a combat bonus compared to that age's most powerful unit. When a vanilla land unit dies, an einherji of that age spawns in the capital. The einherji can only be produced from combat.

UU: Valkyrie
Unlike the knight it replaces, the Valkyrie can travel over mountains and oceans, and gives up to +1 einherji production when garrisoned in the capital (so only one Valkyrie can give the production bonus).

Ehh but still, penalising effects, especially ones that serious, aren't much fun. Plus the -3 faith from declaring peace is totally irrelevant, the valkyrie is OP as heck and the Einherji is OP as heck's great grandad.

I'll nerf the Valkyrie, but I'm trying to stick to original canon as much as possible. You try to use the war gods, who have the greatest fighter in the history of the nine world, the god of war and the greatest archer in the history of the nine worlds, for a completely peaceful victory.

Thats irrelevant tho, the mongols slaughtered their way across a third of the known world and butchered enough humans to permanently alter the composition of the goddamn atmosphere. Despite that, they still don't get a penalty to peaceful expansion ingame, they just don't get a bonus to it.

Thats the key, if your warmonger bonus is smart and strong enough the player wont need to be penalised for going against it because they'll want to use it. When you've an army of keshiks, the most OP unit ever, you don't need the game to penalise you to convince you to go to war, you'll do it anyway!

Anyone got any designs for a Jeskai? I've already done all the art, so I'm rather stubborn on uniques, but I need designs and stuff. The uniques are the Stronghold (UI, a monastery, but also defensive, sort of like the Dzong but different, commonly along waterways) and the Swiftspear (UU, pretty self explanatory, either a pikeman or a horseless lancer.)

Actually, a UA about producing three unique resources: Blue, Red and White. The UU and UI could then use these resources to be produced. :p
