I'm wondering whether JH is intending to play the part of the Light Brigade, or the Russian gunners.

Just a reminder to everyone (including me) - please remember to finish your turn before you log out, given that we've all agreed to no-DMs there's really no reason to avoid doing so.

Well, being that I have Cossacks...I *HOPE* to be the Russians, but I bet that I'll be the Light Brigade.

btw, I'm gone for the weekend folks.

Do you have a stand-in appointed, in case your civ has to do some defending?

The first shot is fired. *boom* Down goes the flagship HMS Davo.

Hey!! You can't do that, we're invincible!!!

One should not leave cities defenseless when cavalry are roaming about... SimonSpot is history.

There's only so much ground one can cover. :D

to whom it may concern: the stack of doom was light on the doom, and could have used more stack

and to Whomp: that was a joke right?

Hey, you never know when someone will slip up in diplomacy. :D

true, at first I thought you had somehow captured the two cities and were offering them back in exchange for peace. However, that was a very short "at first" ;)

Ok ladies, I'm back from my extended leave. Robi's filled me in on everything. Things like diplomatic ties, technological plans, the rather free living of the Mongolian women, and the location of our soldier. You guys better watch out, cause I think he's got two bullets!

I was thinking I had accidentally logged into the CDZ Grouphug game, instead, but a peace offer from you didn't make any sense in that game, either. :crazyeye:

Cheese it - Mauer's back in charge of his soldier! I propose a cease fire. :)

And nicely done, Whomp - I found that hilarious for some reason once I finally figured out what was going on. I nonchalantly logged in, and the first thing greeting me is an envoy from Whomp looking to discuss terms! I immediately noticed two technologies included in the deal, and was briefly perplexed as I pondered how Whomp could have managed to acquire two whole technologies to offer that weren't already possessed by the LAoD. Then I finally realized that I was the once ceding the technologies, along with 137 gpt, and I had a hearty laugh at the whole affair. Well played, Whomp!

Btw, did you lose an ironclad to one of my frigates?? The RNG is not your friend, apparently.

Oh and IglooDude, regarding the non-turn-completion logins, where I have been guilty of that it was simply out of weekend boredom and curiosity as to where the units were on the next turn (as I've been going last lately but I would get curious as to new developments after the rollover, and so would login to adjust city queues and view unit locations, but not move anything to avoid DM's). I hope that wasn't against the spirit of the no-DM's attempt, but FWIW I will try to avoid doing so anymore after one last instance, which will occur right now (and I just finished my turn, as I didn't move any military except to bombard Whomp's city for the heck of it again) ...

... In other news, Funzone has now been renamed Libertyzone. That is all.

Sounds Freudian to me. You're not at war with me in that game but are you? :hmm:
btw Darkness' Xian went down today. :D

That's up to JH/Whomp/Mauer - I have no idea if it mattered or not, but if it did to them, then... we'll figure something out.

We backed the wrong horse.

From my perspective, our days are numbered so do what you will. Where I can exact pain, I will. Sinking Davo's flagship HMS Davo was a crowning acheivement. :D
