Excuse my ignorance but what is DM?

Double Move.

Ahhh... it seems so obvious now:)

Ok since i'm fairly new to the happenings in this game i have to ask what you guys consider a double move.

Obviously if you wait until just before the end of the turn to make 1 move then make another move at the start of the next its a DM.

But what if for example i'm at war with someone and i play my turn then log in the next day to play the new turn, if the other person hasn't played in between would you still consider it a DM?

Depending on the answer to this i will or will not agree to 1.
I agree on 2

Without getting into a 26-page discussion/definition of DM, it is essentially waiting as best you can for the other guy to take his move, and at least 10-12 hours past the turn change except in extraordinary circumstances. If he has the first move of the turn and hasn't gone in 23 hours but you're sitting at your computer and can wait another 30min, you should wait. If he has the first move of the turn and hasn't gone in 10 hours but you are about to be away from the computer for the next 24 hours yourself, you take your turn, and likely as not he will end up with 2 turns in a row as well following that.

Makes sense?

It gets a little hairier when dealing with multiple civs vs multiple civs, but we're talking about a gentleman's agreement here rather than a rule implementation, and I think the spirit of 'try to alternate turns with your opponent' sums it up.

seems i should be dying next turn, its been nice playing with you gents and im a little pleased that it at least took all of you to kill me, if either west or south had of given me time to deal with the other id have probably been victorious but nice playing :goodjob:

also please kill me if you wernt planning on i dont want to hold on as a one city state.

That's exactly why we did both go at you at once. :) Nice job playing, you did a lot with not much. :hatsoff:

Happy to oblige.

Not doing a regentman then:D

I get what you are saying. I'm not trying to be difficult but wanted to make sure of the situation as different PTBS games have different interpretations of the rules. I'm happy to give someone time to take their turn but at the same time i'm in a completely different time zone from most of you so that type of situation can come up. I just did want for an argument to begin if i did a DM thats 20+ hrs apart. So i agree to 1 and 2:)

If I understand you guys correctly I should be making a new update ?

ok but I just need a quick round-up

who died ... and who chose new factions/names !!!!!

And looks like everyone has agreed to my two proposals. :)

And BCLG, unless you think a cav and a couple rifles/gren can defeat three garrison-II grenadiers in a city with whatever city defense % is there as well, your prediction of dying next (now this) turn is just a bit premature.

Western Schizico hereby changes its name to SchizicoLand, and pledges to to act as a negotiator and peaceful meeting place for all future world conferences.

(That basically means, please don't kill off my pathetic Civ. I'd like to be alive to the end).

It's now official, BCLG is an ex-civ at 1540AD.

Per our unanimous agreement, we're in five turns of peace, so no shooting until the start of 1565AD.

And congratulations to all concerned, for uniting to defeat a common threat. :goodjob:

Wow - well done, IglooDude, and everybody.

Nicely played game, BCLG - you'd have dominated had the entire world not managed to unite against you.
