Korea, cos they were my favourites in civ3, but someone please give them a better UU than the h'wacha. also i'd love to see another african civ, tibet, polynesia and scotland (:D, guess where i live...). Scotlands UU could be the clansman, a better version of the maceman, armed with a claymore.

Hi, I would really like to see those. :)

1. CANADA - all hail the second largest country in the world. :D
2. Huns - although they ceased to exist, they cause major mayhem to China and Europe.
3. Turks/Ottomans - Turks for the same reason as above, and Ottoman was too big an empire to pass up!
4. Scandinavia - long history, very influencial in Europe
5. Babylon/Mesopotamia (sp?) - important early civ, rich culture

Some that I like, but I have reasons not to add them.

1. Koreans - I like them, but they don't really affect the world much.
2. Ploynesians - They would be fun to add, but considering that all Civ 4 UUs are land units it's kinda hard to think of one for them. :p
3. Israel - If there is Judaism there should be Israel, but it would have been too controversial for any game publisher to handle. :p

VIKINGS, why? Cause they woudl pwn. No Im not from Scandinavia, but I would love to see them. You got Eric the Red as possible leader. You got a first Axeman or Galley UU in the game! If Axeman it could get either Neglect first strike, first strike, or a bonus to city attack! A Galley could be Uber able to sail the seas or could have the overpowering ability to swim up rivers!

1- It is not a nation.
2- Selection 2 and 3 are the same nation.
4- Agreed.
5- Still important.

you can argue the same case against America being in Royal, although I agree Canada should not be in.

Ottomans, Celts, Scandanavia, Korea, Babylon, Carthage, Zulu, Holland, Portugal would be a great expansion.

My suggestions would include;

Israel - Apart from China, the oldest surviving civilization in anything like its original form. Unique Unit - The Ark of the Covenant, but can only have one of them !

Vikings - While this may be a misnomer, the Vikings actually made a huge contribution to European development... after all, William the Conqueror was a descendent of them (Normandy derived from North or Norse Man) - Unique Unit has to be the Berserker.

Confederacy - the New World needs some competition to the US, Aztecs and Incas... - Unique Unit should be the Klansman or, more seriously, the Skirmisher.

...Israel as nation only exist since WW2, ... Unless you people mean the Israel kingdom thats mentioned in the bible, but that doesnt have anything to do with the Israel of today.

Apart from having broadly the same religion, culture, language, alphabet and location, you are absolutely right.

Since the Romans killed Jesus, the English invented poison gas and concentration camps, the Americans are the only nation to have used Nuclear weapons, the Germans started both World Wars, the Incas/Aztecs had a fondness for Human Sacrifice, the Russians and Chinese both allowed millions of their own people to die in famines during living memory and the Arabs have the least democracy or female emancipation in modern times, it is obvious that morality is not a guiding factor in which civilizations are included.

Thus, while there are people who object to Israel (or to Judaism) for various reasons, I do not think that should determine whether or not Israel (for want of a better name) should be included in the game.

Of course, I am biased because I actually know what I am talking about, unlike some of the trolls.

They'd only be pawns, I think they would be better than that. :D
I do like the going up rivers part.
It would be hard to do and, as you said, overpowering but really cool and true to life.

I've always felt that Israel isn't a good name for a Civ - I've always created them in my mods as the Hebrews.

Anyways, Canada? Yikes... to be a Civ there should be some sort of glorious historical impact recognized in general. Not every country should have a Civ...

I think though, that the US has by now made its own culture (basically) while Canada still has yet to do that

Lots of good Native American civilizations: Mohawks, Navajo, Souix, etc. Despite not having certain "advancements", they were fairly developed socially, in many cases.

South America...most of the civilizations mentioned, such as Brazil or Argentina, while definitely world players today politically, I don't think would make for good Civ 4 groups. Not distinct enough from existing groups. Modern Brazil and Argentina both have a wonderfully fun culture - love Rio and Sao Paulo, and Buenos Aires is one of my favorite cities - but I can't even imagine who you'd pick as a great leader from there, let alone a unique unit. Stealthy slave revolter using Capoiera? :D

Big problem with them is that they are mostly just grown up colonies. Sure, the US is a grown up colony, but we developed a pretty distinct form of government compared to our founders, and have made a considerable impact on the world since.

But that's all just my opinion.

There's lots of potential in Africa, as well. Houda tribes, perhaps.

Maori in New Zealand could be interesting. :D I don't think Aborigines would be good...

And of course in Europe...Swedes were a pretty powerful force for a while (anyone read 1632, btw?). Vikings/Scandanavians had quite an impact on the region (including the development of modern English!). Swiss had their famous pikemen. Portugal, since they were quite the explorers for a while.

And Eastern Europe could stand for more development...but I'm not as familiar with Eastern European history.

EU as a civ? Don't think so...not really a 'Civ', kinda the anti-thesis, really. I guess they'd get the special unit: Bureaucrat. :P

Middle East - Byzantine, Sumerians, Hittites/Assyrians perhaps. Babylonians.

Asia - Koreans, Vietnamese, Indonesians, Siamese...dunno about some of the lesser civs there.

Lots of potential for new civs out there.

I think more leaders would be good as well! And more UUs for existing Civs!

Atlantians.....nuff said
People always leave out Antarcticians.
It's a perfectly valid continent. People always seem to ignore it.
Bigger than Erupoe and Austriala even.
I don't know of any names but it would be cool even if no natural people.

"Erupoe"!!! I think it's the most mmiissssssppeelleedd word in the history of this forum!!

Antarctica is not a very valid continent. It has no permanent inhabitants.

What, I would love Atlantis. I can't believe I didn't think of it.
