College Bowl Prediction Thread

Boise State deserves it way more than Florida or Michigan... I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ohio State shouldn't need to play any team with a worse record than them, because even if they lose, there's no objective measure of who would be the best team. Say Florida wins. Both Ohio State and Florida finish with one loss. Now what? Of course Florida is crowned, but how is that fair at all?

Florida had their chance against Auburn and they blew it. Boise State doesn't even have a chance.

Boise State has beaten more ranked teams this year than Michigan...

Ok, you can talk about who certain teams play against, but if you say that, you also have to discuss HOW WELL THEY PLAYED. Obviously, if the team loses the games anyways, it doesn't matter (IE, Michigan lost to Ohio State, so no matter what kind of game they played, you shouldn't use that) Michigan dominated the best teams they played, and struggled realistically against one team, Ball State.

Now, since we've lost two games (and the USC game was too awful to describe with words), I'm off the Michigan NC wagon (as if there still is one), but I still hate when people say 'lolx michigna playz a weak skedjyool", because you can't say that without including the fact we have played fine football this year.
In fact, Michigan plays the third hardest schedule in the country, statistically. Florida has the first, USC has the second, Michigan has the third.

That's not exactly true, the only teams that Boise State beat that are ranked are Oregon State and Oklahoma. Whereas Michigan beat ND, Wisconsin (with Penn State likely to be ranked in the final poll).

...And I guess GT is kinda like Minnesota, where mediocrity is acceptable. But maybe he'll pull something like Beamer did at VT, where he didn't win more than 6 six games in any of his first 6 seasons, then hasn't won less than 7 once since.

God no. Oklahoma isn't exactly a great team, and they barely beat them. Plus, their schedule was extremely easy.

You're in the minority.

6) Does Boise State deserve a shot at Ohio State for the national championship?

78.5% Yes, they are the only other unbeaten and showed they belong in that game
21.5% No, the BCS system worked fine and Florida is more deserving than Boise State

No. They both beat one ranked team. Michigan beat ND. Boise State beat Oklahoma. Michigan also beat a Wisconsin that looks to finish top 5.

Well Wake went down in flames, but they fought the good fight. Louisville was the better team, but my Deacs got robbed on that fumble call in the first half--- might have changed the whole game around, but such
is football. Still a great season. Go Deamon Deacons!

This will never end...first "Boise doesnt deserve to be in the BCS" now "Boise can't touch OSU". Ridiculous. This team flat out dominated OU for 3 quarters, and then pulled some of the best playcalling in NCAA history to win it.

@augurey, I meant the same amount. Boise beat Oregon State, Hawaii, and Oklahoma. Michigan beat Penn State, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame. Oregon State is a better team than Notre Dame right now. Hawaii vs. Penn State would be fun to watch ;)

@redfusion, Georgia Tech does not accept mediocrity, they won a national championship in the 90's and have a good recruiting base. It's just what thier getting with Gailey. They need to fire him and bring in someone like Lane Kiffin from USC, Norm Chow from the Titans, Gary Patterson from TCU, or a Steve Kragthorpe type from Tulsa.

:thanx:

I owe my picking to having little knowledge of college football and making choices based on past history.

GO FLORIDA!!!

Thats all I have left to say in this thread :p

Well, OU got raped, but thats expected. Only one game left...

GO BUCKEYES!!!

You watching the game on campus somewhere Red?

Naw, I'm going over to my brother's. He's got a nice huge widescreen HDTV to be able to enjoy the game on (which will also be the first time I get to see the buckeyes in High Def). Though I did think about going to the Schott for the game.

How 'bout you?

O-H

All I've heard all week is how the underdog does well in these games and Florida should be able to surprise them and yada yada yada. I'm not saying I'd be floored if Flordia did pull it out, but I'm expecting OSU to win, decisively.

I *was* thinking about going to the gateway to watch the game at a bar...but win or lose, there are going to be a lot of crazies in Columbus...maybe I better avoid that.

So I'll be at a buddie's house out here in town. 40 buckeye fans, 2 large screens....it'll be a party.

oh,

I-O!!!

Many Florida fans are cautiously optimistic of it being a good game, but the spectre of the Nebraska fiasco still looms large. It could get ugly in a hurry, but the longer Florida hangs around, the better chance I give them to pull it out.
