College Bowl Prediction Thread

That's the last time I trust the Southwest Conference for anything.

All I want for Christmas is...a halfway decent Bowl Game

37-7 TCU
38-8 BYU
24-7 USF
41-17 Troy
20-5 San Jose State

5 and 0. Go me.

The TCU and BYU games were very nice to watch, and no one really cares that much about any of the bowls we're seeing for these few days anyway...

Only Black Hole remains undefeated, but everyone's at least even at 3-3 . . .

And I actually thought all three of today's game were relatively entertaining. The first three did suck though . . .

Relatively entertaining? Besides Tulsa-Utah, all these games were basically decided by halftime!

Hawaii-ASU better be good.

Yes but you didn't know they were decided by halftime. 'Relatively entertaining' means that if I'd been at home during them, I wouldn't've turned them off . . .

Everyone now has at least one loss, but the trouble is that half our entrants are at 6-1. So I'll wait 'til I get back from the Independence bowl to post standings; hopefully there'll be some separation by then . . .

EDIT: Kinda a bad start for the Pac-10, huh?

PAC-10 just had some unfavorable matchups. Arizona State had a true road game against Hawai'i, so it's not realy surprising they lost. Oregon also was the underdog going against the Mountain West Conference Champ (by-far the best Mid-Major Conference)

Though it'll be interesting thing to see if the Big East runs the table in their 5 bowls, all of which the BE team is favored in. Well, the remaining 4 at least since USF already took care of business.

I may not be going to the Independence bowl after all :/

If I don't then I'll update standings after the Emerald bowl tomorrow.

Okay, tonight's game is just too boring for words, so I'll go ahead and post some stats:

Bowl games are a bad indicator of conference strength. Some conferences, like the Big East this year simply have a pretty easy run through the bowl season. In every game they are basically a good to heavy favorite.

Hawaii-ASU better be good.
I wouldn't have counted on it. I watched the game, the first half was uneventful, and the second half was a blowout. It was basically a home game for Hawaii, who erupted (no pun intended) at every positive play for Hawaii. Brennan, after a mediocre first half, woke up and started pumping out touchdowns. I would have expected ASU to be more inspired, it was their coach's last game with the program.

I agree completely. I wish every bowl was an XvX matchup. But I'm still going to keep track . . .

EDIT: Nevermind, see below.
