It looks like Yaro, Patient and Yop are all online right now, unless the Forum is screwed up so are you guys talking?

Id like to get thru this playtest sometime in this lifetime.....

:D

OK guys it has been 5 days.

This is supposed to be a beta test that hopefully moves rather quickly.

This is an interesting little ploy you have going on with tech trading but if it cant happen this turn it can happen next. Techs dont come that fast anyway.

And I appreciate that you have exams Yop so if that is what is holding you up I apologize in advance.

I would really like to get this going before John ruins his life. We need to get the MP version squared away. After July we may never hear from John again so Im just trying to protect my investment here...........

Let's get some movement in before I get too old and grey!
You mean, before you get like Steve??? :p ;)

Anyway, the turn: Steve, what are those troops in Africa doing?

I already told you that I'm going to build a city there and I asked if anyone objected, noone did, so now that spot is reserved.

And about the exams: yes I have exams, already for 2 weeks now, but they're almost finished. :D

First of all you didn't establish any time limit for objection. So OK I object.

Second, They are improving the square next to the spot you want. My island city needs it for food. If you take over that food spot I will consider it a declaration of war. I was there first anyway. And why cant you go further north. The only reason you want that spot is to starve my slave city. There are plenty of places in Africa not on top of my colony.

Third John said we should reserve spots. I dont agree I believe it should be first come first served. Since I have no alliance with you or John I dont have to listen to your plans, ideas or proposals. And its not like I didn't offer a deal to John.

This is still up to negotiation

First come first served.

What guarentees do I get on the square? In both times of peace and war because I do know what your and Johns ultimate plans are.

Declaration of war is up to you and you will be the agrressor. I already said Im not going to recognize "reserved spots". You and John can work that out between yourselves but Im not buying it.
(Other than the treaty John and I already worked out.)

And I already have a land agreement with the Swedes, well at least an understanding. They were a lot less obnoxious then the Dutch so I gave them a great deal and we already have an understanding.

I suggest that, in cases like these, Holland and England let their troops on the ground sort it out. Whilst there is nothing to stop countries laying claim to an area of the map, in order to negotiate away potential flashpoints, in areas of dispute where negotiation doesn't happen, or fails - the men on the ground usually took matters into their own hands.

Both nations might want to agree they are only at war in Africa, until it is sorted. They might both find their allies unwilling to go to war over such a minor issue.

Jan 1632: Events. The various Independent nations go to war with France, citing border infringements by French troops. Initial fighting has mixed results. The Dutch stand by their French allies and declare on the Independents. French troops, prepared for a war against England, are redeploying south and east instead....

The Spanish round up more Pirates.

The French have great success hunting the Beaver this season! ;) Both groups of Hunters have been successful and the first New World furs are on their way to Europe. Aside from that, Goreé was founded in Africa to help process slaves, and was immediately garrisoned.

French artillery on the way to Narbonne has entered the border territory also claimed by Spain. These troops will pass through swiftly, and are unescorted to prove French goodwill to Spain.

Lyon resists a powerful Swiss invasion force, but not before much damage is done to the countyside. A Danish galley sunk in the Channel.

Steve, you're being paranoia again.
All I want is to build a city on the frickin' square. I'm even willing to pay for that. How about 200 gold and the promise that you can keep on utilising that square, even when we're at war. :)

Sure now we are talking, this is called negotiation.

Agreed its a deal.

In a sneaking move, the Independents cities of Italy and the rebels of Portugal conjurate against Spain fair administration. The Portuguese are believed to have destroyed a Royal Cannon and its escorting unit! In retalation, Spanish troops have stormed the city of Verona and destroyed many Independents armies (including, but not limited to two ships, the Castle of Faro, a demi-culverin near Porto and five units near Verona). The only single Spanish defeat was as Pescara, where the Independent Arquebusiers were able to survive the Spanish attacks.

Spain has signed a peace teatry with the Independents cities of Italy and the state of Portugal. However, many in Spanish Court believe that the teatry is not going to be obbey by the General Muñoz, who is in charge of Spanish army in Portugal. It is excepted that, at summer this same year, the Spanish will capture the Portuguese city of Faro.

In Africa the Spanish army wipe out some natives demi-culverins and a Galleon. Spain, who consider all the natives cities of Africa of her 'sphere of influence' is said to launch an attack to Dar-El-Beida soon, as the Spanish Fleet has moved against the African Land.

In America, the Spanish have destroyed a native calvary unit near San Juan, but the colony is though to be not sustanaible. However, the Spanish King has woved to 'never abandond a single church!'. The Spanish Carracks continued to move forward the European contient, where they are said to trade with England, France and The Netherlands.
