[Col] Colonization crashes Windows 10

Hi everyone. I am trying to playing the old style colonization game and it keeps crashing since I converted to windows 10. I used to use windows xp and dos box without problems. Current problem is that I get a FLAG error. Lots of messages about problems with Flags, then everything pixilates and crashes
I am a person of low technical abilities, but if anyone knows of an easy fix, I'd be grateful.

Unfortunately I can't help you with any technical problems but I have also converted to Windows 10 recently. I hadn't tried to play Colonization so I fired it up (isn't the music nostalgic!) and played a few turns without any problems.

My version of Colonization is from Good old Games (https://www.gog.com/ ) and they say it is Windows 10 compliant. If you can't get your version to work then I suggest you buy a new copy from them. The current price is $5.99 but I have seen it as low as $2.09 on special.
