Moo, baby. Moo.
I noticed something odd when using colored text. I was originally posting this in Site Feedback as a Forum bug, but while previewing my post, I realized the mistake was not the board's but mine and/or my browser's; as it was still weird and could be something for others to watch out for when they post I'm continuing to post it...
The dropdown menu to select colors has some of them hyphenated and I mistakenly thought that I could just type that name into the [ color ] tag in my text and it would work. The results were unexpected:
This says "color=orange-red" while this says "color=dark-blue." And, at least in my browser, IE 6 on Win98, the "orange-red" text is a shade of blue and the "dark-blue" text is a shade of red.
Here's a cropped screen-capture in case you have a smarter web browser:

Using the proper, non-hyphenated versions, orangered or darkblue, work as intended. So, the moral of the story is, don't assume that you can save some time by just typing the color name exactly as it appears in the menu on the post page 'cause you may be in for a surprise
