What would it be? Rome and mongols? China and America?
Who would dominate?

The Aztec get culture for kills paired with a civ with a good unique unit and culture output (France) would make a great combination, at least on higher difficulties where the AI spams units like mad.

Denmark and England would work pretty well together on a water map, I suppose. But the crappy AI navy makes it all pointless anyway.

It's a question that some mp teamers could respond with high precision(i'm not a teamer guy). But personnally i see Aztecs and Romans as a very powerful combo.

13 :c5strength: units double moving in forest with +2 insta heal while killing units and getting free culture? Insane :crazyeye:. Add top notch UA from Rome and the 15% growth from the UB of Aztecs...

USA + Iroquois. No not really, I just said that because a Native American + US combo made me smile.

In reality, I think it'd be best if you chose two civs that had UUs at the same time. China + Japan would dominate the medieval era. The Cho-Ku-Nos + the samarai would be almost unstoppable. Furthermore, the samurai would crank out GGs while the Chinese UA would make those GGs more effective.

Babylon + Korea

I'll take the science advantage over military any day.

For me it's the opposite. Military can lead me to a powerful nation anytime, especially from civs with powerful early UUs(classical+medieval). And i don't count DLCs for the exercise.

But if i look for a science based combo only from all civs available, it's definitively Babylon+Korea.

Germany and the Ottomans. OK, seriously.. Mongolia and anybody... but probably Persia.

For me: Denmark/Japan + Babylon/Korea. The great tech + the great units would work nice. Japan's UA is deadly on sea or via airpower, and on land its not too shabby either. Samurai are decent units too.

But Denmark's UA is amazing for blitz kriegs and Berserkers move as fast as a night. Grab commerce (1 or 2 policies) + great lighthouse and get a ton of movement on embarked units so you could quite literally attack an enemy city 5 tiles in starting from the sea in one turn. And setting up trebuchets/cannons/artillery this way leads to crushings of any civ.

Japan + Mongolia = ridiculous keshiks with generals and samurai city-takers. rape and pillage indeed.

India + Aztecs = A handful of really tall cities

Map specific:
Polynesia + Spain + archipelago = Find all of the natural wonders first, and plant cities on them.
Iroquois + Egypt + heavy forests = THE wonder spammer

If anyone thinks they could beat an aztec rome combo with jag legions with romes glory of rome power then PLEASE let me know. There is no combo other than maybe aztec japan. With jag samurai bushido. I say rome aztec because of the time value of the civ. Meaning the earlier the strength of your civ is harnessed the earlier and better your chances of winning.

A Janisary-Foreign legion, with a 45% bonus when attacking outside own teritory, and healing fully when killing.

But my pick would be Mongolia-Russia, so many Keshik, supported by Cossacks just when they start to loose a bit of momentum.
Or Russia-Arabia, all that iron, horses, oil, and luxury.

I concur sir

Or China and Mongolia: Khan spam with a higher damage bonus! (Do Khans get a damage bonus with China though? They can get Khans in vanilla through Educated Elite but I don't know about the bonus)

I disagree. While Japan + China would be deadly, having two such powerful UU at the same time is somewhat overkill. You don't need that bad ass of units at the same time to conquer someone, so I'd rather have them spread out. In a way, it'd be nice to have something like China + Babylon, so your Bowmen (which are a bad ass unit too) can be upgraded to Cho-Ku-Nos. But other than that, they don't have a great amount of synergy.

France + Aztec would be an interesting cultural combination.

Iroquois + the Incas would be awesome for fast units all over the map and basically no need for roads ever.

Tiny Islands: Polynesia + England

Jungle Maps: Aztec + Iroquois :D Jag-Mohawks with 75% bonus??? in jungle

Great Plains: Greece + Mongols  Companion Cavalry superfast

Any Maps: Babylon doesn't need any help :crazyeye:

I would have to say Babylon and China. Babylon for the science and great bowman. China for the gold libraries, awesome UU and kick butt Great Generals.
