well actually Red Alert technically has something to do with the Tiberium wars, in Red Alert 1 the advisor to stalin is the leader of the Brotherhood of NOD

Similar play style, different timeline. This is the Tiberium Wars timeline (starting from CnC 1. See my list of CnC games somewhere in this thread) not the Red Alert timeline.
In the name of Kane, Nod is not a acronym! It refers to the Land of Nod where Cain was exiled to by God which the Brotherhood used in their name.

Harbringer I almost forgot. If you're getting the game beware that you could encounter the Dreaded cnc3game.dat Curse. Basically the game crashes for no reason and you can't do anything about it (in my case it crashed when I tried to play GDI mission.) In short, it's a gamble. Good luck!
