Pretty much the most balanced and modern/realisticesque rts out there with suprisingly good graphics for being made in 2003. Even though you might say World in Conflict achieved more (and believe me it did graphics-wise), where was the classic dozer and building set up that allowed for vast customizations and advantageous/disadvantageous general powers and advancements that put the strategy in rts? And even though you might say that Command and Conquer 3 solves these problems, you're saying that to a person who likes tanks and troops rather than robot-infantry and unmanned aircraft. (That's only my opinion though ;) ). Anyone who loves rts should cherish this game as a masterpiece, and if you haven't tried it, I urge you to get it before all known copies are gone! (P.S.-it's out for Mac too!)

I was actually mildly surprised at how terrible the infantry were rendered in Generals and its expansion, and didn't find that in particular to be much of a step up from Red Alert 2.

I prefer the 2-D of RA:2 actually

agreed, but I think they made up for it with really nice explosion and rocket animations...although you could say that about red alert 2 as well...

I enjoyed Generals much more than any of the C&C series except the first Red Alert.

I found Generals very enjoyable, and had fun playing it

I just got C&C The First Decade pack yesterday and this game is included in that, so I guess I'll probably get around to it at some point. RA2 has always been my favourite C&C game.

I found the missions most enjoyable. Especially the GLA ones. Those silly terrorists.

It's so true. But whenever I play skirmish mode I usually played as America and spammed Comanches. I  rocket pods.

Angry mobs FTW. Yet I have vivid and fond memory of an American Fuel bomb decimating 5-6 of my mobs that I wisely clumped together.

"Amjeeerican fjuel bomb....SCATTEEEEER!"

Silly Americans, my base is chock full of AA. Wait...but those 6-7 mobs I parked outside their base...crap quick select, mash X for scatter. Too late...little men and women with AKs flying through the air like they are Mary Poppins on opium. So sad, cry.

Hahaha, I enjoyed that mission when all you had was angry mobs and you had to just wander around a city blowing up crap.

The unit graphics were some of the worst I've seen. They seem to wear light blue jumpsuits around.
