I fired up the old Power PC and inserted a 1992 demo CD where I found a Microprose game named Command HQ.

I am now hopelessly hooked but I get frusturated when the 150 turn limit expires. It's a rather old game (1988 PC, 1991 MAC) and I can't find it anywhere on Ebay or Amazon.

Anyone actually know of this game? Much less anyone know where to find it?

It's a 20th Century real-time combat simulation. The tutorial is WW1 then you play a slightly more advanced WW2 w/ new fuel and tank rules, then you can play several complicated WW3 scenarios with spy satellites and nukes.

It was one of the first RTS game. I think it also supported multi-player as well. Very simple graphics and gameplay, but it requires a lot of skill to win it. The AI is a little weak though... The scenarios play like a puzzle-solving exercise. Multi-player mode would greatly extend it's shelf life, but who played multi-player games in 1992?!?

All around a great game, well-exectuted and still very playable, but it was a little ahead of it's time.

I remember that game fondly - no idea what happened to my install disk, but it was as fun nuking places then as it is in Civ3 now.
