Commander in Chief - Term 1

Interesting geography :p
Warrior NE?

yeah, NE should reveal more black tiles.

N - N to get to the hill and check out the coast? It looks like we've found the end of this landmass.

If we can afford to wait another turn before going on the hill, it may be more efficient to do NE-N-NW.

Well, if we want to climb that hill, and it's indeed the end of the landmass, then we'll have to go back over the mountain (E-S-S from the hill), and we will still see these tiles. Going N-N will save us a turn.

But if it is not the end of the landmass - I suspect it may continue to the northwest. There's been a lot of lakes on the map already, and having a snaky path between teams would be a good way to connect them.

I think NE-N-NW will only uncover 1 additional tile that N-N will not uncover (the tile NE-E of where Bond is now). I'd say keep moving toward the hill.

This map is a little nuts with all these lakes. I guess we really have to go up to bodies of water to make sure the land doesn't continue - I'm wondering if Bond didn't miss a choke to the south of Baldric way back before he turned west... I guess we'll find out eventually.

Blofeld could go south after turn 28, or earlier, but I think moving him east is better.

I agree the map is a little nuts with the lakes - also, did you notice the snow to the SE of Bond now? The Y-wrapping makes it a little odd too.

N-N is fine with me - just trying to add in some debate to make sure we're making the right decisions. Not to mention there hasn't been much talked about the last couple weeks on this forum other than the PBEMs. It's felt a little dead.

Noted the snow, but that doesn't say much to me, the map is so crazy that I wasn't too surprised about it.

I agree with moving him east eventually. Just musing about the land mass - I don't think there is any urgency to head there.

We really need a contact. There isn't a lot to talk about with what we have. At least soon we can start debating settlement plans.

Should we be building a warrior in Scymitar rather than a second worker? At 26 turns into the game I am starting to feel nervous about a rival unit wandering into our territory. With the possibility of them coming from the SW, N, NE. or E. they could cover a lot of ground in a straight line in 26 turns.

I'm no expert on [C3C] mechanics, but can't we just change the build queues and perhaps even :whip: a warrior if if ever gets that worse?
Remember, we do have 1 warrior in Baldric as an MP at the moment.

If you want a change in build queues though, please ask the Chief Bean Counter, he's in charge of that.

If we spy a wandering warrior into our territory, we can always switch the build to a warrior at the last minute.

But until we have proof that we must be concerned, it is better to build a worker. A second worker allows us to improve our tiles faster. Essentially:

More workers = Faster Improvements = Faster growth = More powerful military sooner

Moving north seems best to me.

EDIT - oops, never mind, I didn't realize classical_hero edited in a turn update .

We can't :whipped: anything unless we have at least 2 citizens in a town - Scymitar should be at size 1 for a while, but I agree that we should plan for what is best long-term unless we have an imminent threat. That being said, a warrior is probably still our best build next from Scymitar to give it time to grow.

I agree with moving James Bond east next turn. I would like to see him keep moving E and SE to explore the lands north of Baldric then the plains and grasslands east of Baldric. We are the Ottomans and we are going to want our horses and i've got a feeling that's where we are going to find them.
