Community Patch - How To Install

I just tried that again, i also checked that one and did everything like that and same result, i guess my computer is cursed :(
If you did all that then it is not VP related. Check around graphics card. Try to use DirectX 10 version which seems the most stable, imho.

I always play with DirectX 10 version, just uninstalled the game, installed the game and the mods and same result

Nope, your computer is not cursed. At around 4:55 of your video you click Back instead of start a single player game - and then you go back to the main menu and start the unmodded game instead of VP :)

Also, I'd switch the game to English (I think you can do it on Steam). Otherwise you will be getting some tool tips from the base unmodded Civ5 (= wrong). I think there is a thread about playing VP on a non-English version of the game somewhere here, but apparently you have no problems with English, so you will be safer in English.

Oh what the ..... i feel so damn stupid right now, the thing is i thought the "Single Player" wasn't a button. Thanks a lot, i feel really good about making that video because with screenshots it would be quite difficult to find what i was doing wrong. My game is on English, it doesn't even have my language and if it had it would be probably the brazilian one which i don't really like.

Ahahaha! Don't worry, you are not the first one to make this mistake - although most people click the Back button one screen earlier than you :)

Firaxis did not design the UI of these menues very well.

And yeah, the video was a good move ;-)

Edit: PS: I think Brazilian would be actually Portuguese ;-)

First time I've ever seen the words 'my language' and 'would probably be.' Illuminati alien confirmed?

Yes it would be Portuguese ( Brazilian ) because Brasil has way more population than Portugal so they would make the translation according to the one with the most population.

Oh sorry, i was so happy playing Civ with Vox Populi that i didn't double check what i wrote

where is the link to that?

I don't really understand all this short hand
  • If using the CBO, delete the LUA folder in the main Community Patch mod folder.
  • If using a CBO Compatibility Mod, choose one or the other, but not both, based on your use of EUI.
  • If using one of the CBO Compatibility Mods, delete the LUA folder in the Community Balance Overhaul and Community Patch mod folders.
  • Make sure to delete all files in your cache (Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Cache) before starting a new game.

In short, just download the executable autoinstaller, run it, choose the setup you prefer when prompted (I suppose you want the full Vox Populi with or without the user interface add-on EUI) and play. Don't delete anything.

Newbie here...
The Steam page for Community Patch says it requires: "Civilization and Scenario Pack: Mongols (Genghis..." and others.
The "Gods & Kings Bundle" seems to have all the others, but I don't see Mongols anywhere on steam.

Can someone say how/where to get this prerequisite DLC?

Is it just my game, or for some reason, Germany, the Celts, the Inca and Carthage are always in the AI games?
Like seriously, I've played quite a lot of VP, and not one of them had none of said Civs.

Hello Everyone,
I edited the CIV5Units.xml in the Modpack "path:\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\MP_MODSPACK_VP_3-7\Override" to include a few mods that I am fond of. Including Ryika's Scouts and Subs Ignore Borders and R.A. Dalton's Realistic Unit Resource Consumption with my own preferences. With Iron representing Steel or Cast Iron for armor in ground/naval industrial era units forward and Aluminum for air units. Consideration for propulsion was taken as well, so that Coal, Oil and Uranium fill those roles. In the case of Modern Armor, Oil is propulsion and Uranium (depleted Uranium) is used to create the armor. Hopefully this serves to add some realism and a soft cap to how many units may be created at a time.

I wanted the Civilopedia to reflect the following discovery order for resources : 1 Horses, 2 Iron, 3 Paper, 4 Coal, 5 Oil, 6 Aluminum, 7 Uranium. Also, I removed the "Requires Oil" line from the description of Guided Missile in both the \en_US\UnitText.sql and Civ5Units_Mongol.xml

Edit: I recommend playing with Abundant resources as nearly all mid to late game units require a resource of some kind.
Also, if anyone knows how to or has interest in creating Wood as a strategic resource, please share your methods.
