Community Patch - How To Install

Updating my post from before, the Barbarian Immersion mod causes me to crash to desktop once the Barbarian Era changes and the Barbarians need to change their names and get their promotions. Not sure if my save is fixable at this point, I CTD each time.

Anyone else having problems with dropbox?

I keep getting and error message and doesn't matter which one I try to goto.

edit: never mind it finally loaded correctly.

Is the use of the Community Patch, the CSD mod, and C4DF mod, compatible with not using the CBP and not using EUI?

In essence, do the CSD and C4DF package depend on CBP? The requirement through the CBP-Compatibility(nonEUI) seems to imply this, but the language used does not.

On the upside, with an answer to this question, I can provide a pretty flowchart to diagram the dependencies in a question-answer model for all future users.
One more thing: this segment contradicts itself: "In order to use this file, all five mods (CP, CBP, CSD, More Luxuries, C4DF) must be used along with EUI and the CBP Compatibility File. Includes support for More Luxuries Mod, but mod is not required."

Would it be possible to get a (CBP - No EUI Compatibility) for just CP+CSD+C4DF?

The reason I ask is because I am able to combine CP+CSD+C4DF and a number of other mods into a multiplayer package in MPMPM but not if I use CBP. Unfortunately CBP breaks MPMPM so I have avoided using CBP. I initially had a problem with CSD+C4DF being broken without the -No EUI Compatibility Files- but upon changing the dependency in the -No EUI Comp. Files- to just the CP Core, I was able to include it in the mix and it fixes the functionality of CSD+C4DF in the multiplayer game. Unfortunately it does call for a few things from CBP (in Top Panel for example) that aren't there in CP that end up simply being (TXT_RESOURCE_....) type of messages.

As I have already proven that the MPMODPACK compiles and runs, I believe that CP+CSD+C4DF No EUI Compatibility Files will solve these lingering problems.

Try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t25kjg19un3gbzl/Community%20Patch%20-%20Compatibility%20Files%20%28No-EUI%29%20%28v%201%29.zip?dl=0

It includes support for MoreLuxuries. If you aren't using that, delete the More Luxuries folder.

Also, any idea why CBP breaks the MPMPM? I haven't tried it.

Uploaded 4/20/1. Affects CP and CBP.

Hey, thanks for the quick turn around. Unfortunately it did not work and CSD and C4DF reverted back being nonfunctional. I believe some of the LUA/XML files from the compatibility files are needed for CSD and C4DF to work as these assets were removed from the CP versions of CSD and C4DF from page 1 (example, the entire ASSET folder that CSD would normally have is removed). This new compatibility zip lack the entire LUA folder. In addition, I believe the More Luxuries stuff is still referencing something in CBP. When hovering over More Luxuries resources on the map, the resource popup displays TXT_KEY_RESOURCE_MONOPOLY_HAPPINESS for example. I think that any references in these files to stuff in CBP would have to be commented out or something while maintaining the lua/xml files for CSD/C4DF. A tall order perhaps.

As to why CBP breaks MPMPM, I am not sure why but it was discussed in this thread post over in the MPMPM discussion board: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13710354&postcount=255

I wasn't thinking, sorry. It was late. You don't actually need any of the files in the 'compatibility file' for CP + C4DF + CSD, as you actually just need to use the 'real' versions of both CSD and C4DF (removing their DLLs, of course).

Hey it worked! Gosh, why didn't I think of that? I actually used an updated C4DF from this post: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=13703429&postcount=346 and the 'stock' CSD. A preliminary MPMODPACK test game demonstrates a working CSD and C4DF using CP as the dll base (along with a number of other mods). Will test thoroughly in the next couple of days, but if all goes well, I'll post the MPMODPACK in the MPMPM thread. Thanks Gazebo!

Just a quality of life suggestion:

To prevent RTFM moments the part about having to remove the LUA folders should be before the links to download. Perhaps a clever use of spoiler boxes could help also.

As always great work.
I hope E&D will become compatible again at some point, it was a very cool mod to have.

It is still 'compatible,' it just has a lot of bugs that are't mine to fix.

God is there an easier way to install these. I have tried to install this mod 4 times in a row now and have not been able to get the building menu to work. so can't get out of the first turn.

I admit I have made a couple of mistakes along the way that I have decided to redo the whole install from top to bottom. But still cant get it to work.

edit: Got it I think.

Any idea what would cause the city build menu to not work?

Are you putting EUI in the DLC folder? The install is not that complicated, is it?

Put CP+CBP+CSD+C4DF+CBP-EUI Compatibility in your MODS folder.

Delete the LUA folders in CP and CBP and place EUI in your DLC folder.

Clear cache, start game, enjoy!
