Community Patch - How To Install

@TheOtherCircle & Games222:

you guys could try the CBP modpack to see if that solves the issue.
This might not be a real solution to the problem itself, but at least you could spend your weekend with playing CBP instead. :)

Anyone have an actual fix?

@TheOtherCircle & Games222:

I understand you probably want to play with EUI, but in order to identify your bug or at least let you play CBP, I suggest you try the autoinstall of the non-EUI version. If even that fails, you can try the manual install.

By the way are your Civ5 and Steam installed in the default paths?

They are in the default paths, and I tried the manual install. I also just tried to instill EUI by itself, and it doesnt even change anything. I keep the default UI..so...

1) But did you try the non-EUI version?? Did it work or not?

2) You mean you tried the original EUI (not the CBP version) as a stand-alone (= without CBP) and it did not change anything?? Did you install it in the correct folder (see the linked instructions)? Also what is your Civ5 version? It should end with 279.

If you cannot install EUI too, the problem isn't CBP's mistake.

Can anyone link me or tell me how EUI's DLC system works? As in how the DLC is implemented into the game, also where do the normal DLC go?

Is there any way to get the community patch without the "All Leader/Ancient Wonders DLC" req? have missing dependency without those DLC's

The non-EUI version works fine with no problems.

I have yet to try the vanilla EUI though...

Good, so that narrows it down to EUI. I think the install folder was wrong. About how EUI works and where exactly to put it, you can either re-read Gazebo's instructions in the install page or follow the vanilla EUI installation link I posted below - most of it will apply to the CBP version of EUI as well.

Just note that the vanilla EUI will (most probably) not work together with CBP ...
... and once you have tasted CBP, there is no point going back to the vanilla Civ5 ;)

Theoretically yes, but you would probably have to go through all the files and delete all the references to the missing content. Why don't you buy the missing DLCs instead? If you already have BNW, these are very cheap (and add some more fun in the game).

Ok then I know, thanks vyyt. But doubt i'll invest 20€ into a game I'm unsure if I want to come back to :).

As long as you have Brave New World you can use the base Community Patch. Problems of compatibility come with the CBP.

G

Oh, sorry, blodswtf!! I thought you were talking about CBP (the one which overhauls the whole game), not CP (the one which fixes bugs and improves AI).

By the way BNW (and also the Ancient Wonders & extra leaders packs) is often on sale, so if you wait a little, you won't have to pay 20 EUR, but much less.

Please activate the mods in the following order:

  • Community Patch
  • Community Balance Patch
  • City State Diplo
  • Civ4 Diplo Features
  • CBP Compatibility Patch
  • More Luxuries

This should solve your problem. :)

That did it. Spank you kindly.

Does this mod work on the Mac version of Civ V?
No it isn't. The Mod Project uses a DLL to inject several changes that would be normally hard-coded and not changeable. Mac is not able to handle DLL's, so no.

Installation Manual:
Hey guys! During the weekend, I sat down and wrote a little manual that describes how to install the Community Patch Project. I hope it will help to prevent users from common mistakes during the installation. Feel free to give me a feedback of what do you think and what possibly could be added to this manual. It could be then added to the "How to install" page.

Manual v 1.2

Gazebo you are my god!! Thank you for the installer! So far so good! Please, don't stop the development.

Hi. First of all, I'll thank for your work. What you've been doing is wonderful, and I greatly appreciate it.
Now for my question: is there somewhere I can download older versions of the patch? I have an old game I'd like to complete :)
