Community Patch - How To Install

Hi,

I'm kind of new to the mods, but love playing civ 5 and when I seen this page it was like discovering Seven Cities of Gold for civ :D

But I don't want to waste your time with my stories - let's catch to the chase. Mods I installed - CP, CBP, CSD, CIVD, Events & Decisions, Health & Plague, More Luxuries, Trade road enchantments.

Here are my game settings: Large, Continents, Emperor, Standard - 13 civs ( added ). Most settings random, resources - tried starting more then 5 times ( different resource setting ).

Here are my problems (I need to mention I play in English and followed the installation guide and order carefully):

1. EUI - when I started the game I was missing notifications on the right, city names, tech tree was empty and top bar was totally messed up...
2. So after some tryouts I decided to delete it and clear catche. ( just EUI & EUI user interface ). All got good - well almost. Interface looks old & ok and I can see the tech tree.
3. My biggest issue is with resources - even thou I set them on high setting they seem to appear very rarely. Haven't seen cattle and horses at all - after researching animal husbandry - I have seen some fish, bananas, stone. But in addition there were no luxuries at all :P Well I know that now you need to research a certain tech &/or adopt a social policy to see them - is there a list of all those requirements? Couldn't find it anywhere.
4. Didn't find any city states - my setting 13 civs, 22 city states, Large map...

I played only for 30-40 turns every time as I wanted to deal with those issues first.

I play game version 1.0.3.144 - well that's what's on bottom of the screen in main menu ;)

Did you install EUI in your DLC folder? It does not go in the MODS folder. As far as the resource and CS location bugs are concerned, that sounds like a mapscript issue, not a CP/CBP issue.

Hello. New to the forums and new to all these cool mods. So if you and a friend install all these mods correctly can you play a multi-player game together?

No, you cannot. That only works for mapscripts.

Hah... indeed I have installed it in the mods folder - will try in DLC folder like you suggested ;)

Well still no cattle, but I found horses - yupppi. Well I didn't find any city states so far and cattle - are the density of resources reduced in the mods I mentioned?

Still no city states - turn 50 - any suggestions?

I will post some screenshots so you can actually tell me if the issues I described are normal for the modded game.

I am just slightly confused about the interaction between EUI's stuff and Health and Plague - does it entail you cannot have both together whatsoever, or does one of the compatibility files need to be removed? If so, which one? It is simply somewhat unclear, is all.

My understanding is that Health and Plague is incompatible with the EUI compatibility files, thus any mod setup using CBP and Health and Plague is incompatible/will not function properly with EUI.

Just finished my first CBP game and I'd just like to say I am thoroughly impressed at the quality of this modpack. I really love how everything has been balanced. :goodjob:

That being said, I decided to upgrade my CBP to the latest version today, and while installation was relatively painless last time, I've been continuously getting the old EUI bug where it replaces all yield icons with food (:c5food:). I've reinstalled three times now, but I keep getting the same error. I'm only using CP, CBP, CSD, C4DF, and EUI with their respective compatibility files.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! :)
 
Where can I go to read ALL of the current changes that the Community Balance Patch does? I am interested in using it but I want to know and understand all the changes.

Navigate to: ~\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Community Patch (v 66)\Core Files\PNM Mods DB\InGame and delete the two files in this folder.

Hey Gazebo, love the mods, one error on my computer is that whenever i start a new game, i can get to the first tem and then the game just shuts down, anyway you know how i can fix this?

I discovered that, at least for me, starting an Inland Sea map with the CP causes instant CTD (crash) on 2nd turn, right when the barbarian turn ends.

If that's your problem, try creating a new game on Lakes for example and see if that fixes it.

thanks, ill try it although im not sure it wil work too well, i usually play on ynaemp
 
Great job with all of this! I am trying to get more of my friends to play with these mods. Civ 5 is fun again!
 
Hey guys!

I downloaded everything as it said, everything is in the mod folders but when I go to activate the Community Patch I get this message

(thats on the community patch, not the other ones. The other ones are unusable because the community patch is invalid).


I'm on the newest version of the game (1.0.3.279) and this is the community patch update from a few days ago, do you have any ideas as to what's wrong or how to fix it?
