Community Patch - How To Install

Just some feedback on the latest installer. I am using the Community Patch Project Full (No-EUI Version) and it works perfectly. Brilliant stuff Gazebo. I am really looking to get stuck in my first game of the new version this evening.
My only question is, are we to still use the lua51_Win32.dll? I seems to have disappeared from the front page recommended mod list, I am sure I saw it there yesterday. I already have a copy from before, is it still recommended?

The installer found my documents but used the standard and wrong c: path for steam. Should it find it? If not, could be better for unexperienced user if there were a popup for choosing the path for the steam folder if it finds that the c: folder don't exist or something

Same here. It installed EUI in the wrong place at first and I didn't realise until later. I took my Steam folder out of program files long ago!

I am pretty sure you are offered to change path in installer, because I did exactly that.

Of course i changed the path. But if a mod installer offers a path, I get the impression it found the right path and might trust that. It's just what most users are used to.

Is Event and Decision (CBP version) no longer compatible or something? Can't seem to find it.

It uses the default path. I can't accommodate users that move their steam install, sorry.

Hello,

I try to enable CBP Compatibility Files (No-EUI) but it says I am missing dependencies. I used the automatic installer and I have enabled the Community Patch and Community Balance Patch. Am I missing something?

Auto installer of full CPP+EUI 9-18 version isn't installing EUI properly for me. My Steam and Civ folders are in the default file paths:

C:\Users\ecgopher\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC

For some reason the installer wants to install the UI_bc1 folder in the regular game folder (top file path above) not the DLC folder (bottom file path above). Just moving the UI_bc1 folder to the DLC folder fixes it, but thought I'd report it. I also got an unknown software warning from Windows when I ran the installer this time. I did not get that warning, nor have any issues with the 9-15 version.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

Am I correct in assuming that the full installer overwrites older files when updating? I.e. I don't have to manually uninstall anything before installing the new version, correct?
Thanks.

"This version includes all files in the full Community Patch Project install, including EUI. Just download and run this file, clear your cache, and you are good to go!"
I'm sorry, I really hate to be "that guy", but the above statement on the front page of this thread has me a little confused. I take it to mean that a compatible version of EUI is included with the mod, when it appears that only compatibility files are included? Do I still need to download and install EUI?
I ask because I have used EUI in the past, and could see tooltips when hovering over UUs and UBs from the leader select screen, and after selecting all the mods (on the 'mods' screen) that came with this download, that functionality is not there.
I have a clean install of CIV V BTS (NO previous mods installed!); and have cleared my cache. Any thoughts? Or am I a complete moron . . .

NEVERMIND! APPARENTLY, I AM A COMPLETE MORON, BECAUSE THIS WAS ANSWERED TWO POSTS ABOVE ME!! :wallbash:

Hey Gazebo, I noticed you took off the Luajit link. Is it depreciated now, doesn't work, or ?

People were reporting issues with it and mods like ExCE, so I removed the link. It still works, but I don't feel it is necessary (and the chance for conflict is marginal, but enough for me to shy away from it). You can get luajit elsewhere.

I also can't find this, is it in the process of being updated?

My best guess is that it was too challenging to balance it out since the AIs would automatically enact any decision when it was possible to do so(not showing any thoughts when to enact) and the fact that some text tooltips are outdated majorly supports it.

I could probably look into it and see if I can update it.

I wouldn't bother Enginseer. You can balance decisions to suit CPB that's least problem, AI is main downside. It will still chose something at random, unless you determine what it should choose by creating your own rules for AI to follow.
