Community Patch - How To Install

Greetings,

Is there a simple way to uninstall the Community Patch and all it's components and optional material? (eg. Like a 'Uninstall Script".)

I and my friends play Hot Seat Civ V games on a regular basis, but my buddies are less interested in playing with all these new bells and whistles than I am. (At least for now).

So, it would be useful if there was a way to quickly and safely revert back and forth from the Civ V 'CP et al" game to an 'unmodified' Civ V experience.

I have used the 'install scripts' provided on these forums, but have had to hunt down the files and manually delete them and clear the cache to revert back.

Thanks in advance for any tips and/or advice.

I don't think there's a simpler way than that, at least at the time being.

One thing to avoid confusion (I feel there might be some): Community Balance Patch is the one that offers lots of new stuff. Community Patch alone, however, simply makes the AI smarter and fixes some bugs/exploits in the base game, and that's it. You can check the Unified Changelog to see what features the CP has and what the CBP.

Maybe I'm just being entirely stupid.. But I've set the option in the SQL file for the CBP to only show bonus resources at the start... and it isn't changing for me in game. I still see luxury resources. I've cleared cache and moduserdata. This is correct, yes?

INSERT INTO COMMUNITY (Type, Value)
VALUES ('COMMUNITY_CORE_BALANCE_RESOURCE_REVEAL', 2);

I haven't accidentally deleted a comma or anything?

Speaking of Bonus Ressources:

Just a few minutes ago I was able to chose 2 Uranium from the AI during peace negotiations in the medieval era!
Is this a known issue when the AI places cities over invisible bonus ressources (they obviously don't have any uranium mines), or should I post it in the bug reports thread?

I'm playing with CP 9-18.

Yes quite easy, just dont press the mod button when you start a new game if you dont want the mods :D

Forgive what may end up being an obvious question, but I've been having an issue with an apparent missing component of this mod. I was browsing through some popular mods that might make the game more enjoyable and ran across this collection of very interesting looking mods, but every time I try to activate them in the mods section of the game, it keeps telling me the 'Community Balance Patch v. 13' requires a mod called 'Community Patch (v. 0 - 999)'. Is there something obvious I'm missing? I feel like there might be as I have yet to find anything in this thread or anywhere else of someone having this issue and trying to find a solution has been very frustrating.

The Community Patch (CP) and the Community Balance Patch (CBP) are two different things, though CP is a requirement for CBP. :)

In the first post of this thread there is a link for "Manual Installation". There you can find the downloads for the CP and the most recent version of CBP.
Download both and replace your older version of CBP.

Ah ok thank you. I didn't realize the shortcuts didn't included that. I just redownloaded everything from the the manual install section and everything seams to be in order now.

Seems that dropbox finds the file to be too wanted, are there any proxys to download from?

CP (9/24) Full Version

Temporary upload when the dropbox is suddenly down.

Looks like Gazebo fixed the issue. Use the main thread.

When I try to download the mod, a tab opens saying: Error (429) This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled! Can anyone help?

There was a sudden huge burst of downloads - over 2000! - in about an hour this morning. Something happen? Anyways, seems dropbox is currently suspending me, so I'm going to find a secondary source for the uploads.

G

Try Mega :) IMO, it's better host site from Dropbox.

Quill18 started a new let's play using the mod. That might have something to do with it.
