Community Patch - How To Install

I am a bit surprised, you missed thread where I recommended Mega before you uploaded to google, oh well it doesn't matter now :) .

Is there a reason that when I use this mod set (the full set, with no other mods), the load game button is missing from the escape menu? I CAN load my game after activating the mods and using that load button, but not from in-game (I have to quit/retire to the main menu and re-enable the mods all over again). I don't recall having this issue before with other mods. What gives?

Correct, you cannot. Loading a game while in a game with a modded DLL is a bad idea. Can cause corruption.

Hey guys!

As it was requested in another thread, I created a modpack for the Full Community Patch Project (9/27) + EUI and thought that I might share it here as well, for anyone who wants to use the CPP in multiplayer games or is having problems with the installation or downloads.

DOWNLOAD CP Project Full (9/27) EUI Modpack

FAQ:

Q: How do I use this?
A: Just unpack the file and copy the included folder 'MP_MODSPACK' to
Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC
Done.
Now just go to the main menu, setup a game (SP/ Online/ Hotseat) and play as usual, no need to mess around with the mods menu anymore (really... don't use it while using the modpack!).

Q: Does this work in multiplayer?
A: Yes.
Q: Really?
A: Yep.
Make sure that everyone installed the very same version of this modpack.

It would be nice if you could post your experiences in multiplayer (everything worked fine? any crashes/ desyncs?..) into this thread to support Gazebo with sorting out any MP-related issues (if there are any).

Q: Can I use it on a Mac?
A: Unfortunately not. No matter which method you use (mods menu, modspack), CP and therefore all mods that depend on it won't work on the Mac OS.

Q: Which mods are included?
A: CP, CBP, CSD, C4DF, More Luxuries, EUI

Q: Can I play scenarios as well?
A: No, since the changes from CBP affect the gameplay a lot, trying to play a scenario is nothing else but a shortcut right to your desktop.
Or to make your computer explode. Not fully tested.

Q: How do I uninstall?
A: Just delete the MP_MODSPACK-folder.

Q: Where can I find more info about the sorcery of MPMPM-modpacks?
A: Over here!

Q: i DON'T KNOW WHAT TEH MOD DOES SO i DON'T WANNA USE IT!!!1
A: I don't care.

All credits go to
Gazebo and the modders who contributed to the CPP,
Gedemon for creating and
cicero225 for maintaining and updating the MPMPM-tool!

For some reason the mods won't show up on the mods menu when I boot up Civ. I downloaded the CBP, CP, and the compatibility files (non-EUI), put them into the mods files for Civ, and then deleted the LUA for both CP and CBP files. I have also deleted the cache before I booted up Civ. What am I doing wrong?

Whatever this Mega website is, I can no longer download the community patch, any part of it.

Just tested and it's still working.

Double click on any of the files to add it to your download queue.
To access the queue, click on the small round icon in the lower left corner. Yeah.. it's not very obvious and easy to miss.

Can anybody explain to me how to update the community patch? I first downloaded it last week, and now can't figure out how to get the newest version. I tried using the Mega auto-installer thing, and it seems to have downloaded something, but as far as I can tell my game has not changed at all. At the very least, the Huns/Mongols/Arabian UAs are not displaying their newest versions when I am on the set up stage for a new game.

It's very easy to use. So if you would like to download the installer just ignore all buttons and just click on Download through browser. All other options are related to those guys who use Mega a bit more, so they know what they will mean:

Down below I created a short overview of the Mega interface, if you would like to download the files manually:

Did you clear your cache? Also, you have met all the mod requirements? Make sure the two LUA folders (CP and CBP) are deleted, and that EUI is installed in your Civ 5 DLC folder properly. All that done, make sure the EUI-compatibility file is in your MODS folder.

I 'fixed' my problem; turns out to play the mod you have to start a game from the mod menu not the normal game menu. Never expected this.

No, on 32-bit it should work just fine (Civ 5, as a matter of fact, is a 32-bit application).
Have you tried all the other tips for solving this kind of problem (clearing cache, verify game files, removing all other mods, reinstalling the game..) yet?

Let me know if you have any questions!

I tried all of the above, as this is a running issue (have the issue since 2014). I had given up, but I wanted to try it again with the installer.

The issue probably is caused by the interaction between my PC and Whoward's DLL, seeing as that gives me the same crash. (Upon loading the mods).

Okay, I did that. It downloaded something for sure, but I'm still not seeing any of the balance changes listed in the 9/24 version (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=552870) appearing in my client.
There are several questions that has to be answered in order to help you. So are you trying to start a game via the mods menu? Other options than that will not work. You have to play the game on windows, no exception. Are you playing the game in a different language than English? There is a tutorial for that case in the FAQ of the how to install thread. Are the mods active? Do you use other mods, overhauls, that possibly alter the result of the Community Patch? Did you delete your Cache and ModUserData?

Yes, of course.

No problems here.

Are the mods active? Do you use other mods, overhauls, that possibly alter the result of the Community Patch?

I just tried it again, loading up only the Community Patch mods. Still have the outdated version.

Did you delete your Cache and ModUserData?

I had not as of my first post, but I just did and there was absolutely no effect.

I can not understand what makes the installation so hard.. Ok lets do it from the beginning..

Download the newest pack from Mega.
Please! Before you download the Modinstaller. Have a look into your Addons of your Browser (Firefox, Chrome, whatever). If you installed the Mega Addon, the file you will then download can have a different directory than your normal downloads.

I recently installed the Mega Addon accidentally and because of the Addon, all Mega files were downloaded to my Desktop instead to my Downloads folder. The easiest way would be to unistall the Mega Addon and follow the steps below after that.

So double check if you are executing the correct CPP installer. The version is written in the Welcome Page of the installer before you click next first time: 0.9.27.1

Community Patch Project Full (EUI Version)

Ok you downloaded the file. Please do these steps first before executing the installer file:
  1. Go to "Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5"
  2. Delete the following folders: cache, Logs, ModUserData
  3. Rename your Mods folder to ModsX. Create a new folder called Mods! You will then have a clean Mods folder.
Later if everything is working right, you can copy back all mods that you manually downloaded from CivFanatics for instance.
Until that they will remain in this Backup folder safely.
  4. Go to the folder of the Civ V installation: "steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC" and delete the following folder: UI_bc1
  5. Now you are ready to install the Mod
Ok now you executed the installer and click next until a destination folder field will show up:
  1. Double check if the path really leads to your My Documents folder.
My for example is on drive E:\ so this is how it will look like for me "E:\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\".
  2. If everything is correct the installer will install the Mods to your Mods folder.
  3. A new windows will appear to install the EUI Addon. Double check the path! Most time the path showing up there is wrong. I installed the Game to a total different destination, so make sure that your installations is really in this shown folder on the one hand, or browse for the correct folder on the other hand. The destination folder should end up with "Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC".
  4. Hit then install and after that finish. You can then double check if your created Mods folder from the beginning contains your installed Mods and if the EUI Addon will show up in the installation directory under "Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC". You have to find a folder called UI_bc1 there.
Now if everything is correct, you are ready to start the game. In the main menu of the game hit Mods and wait. Yes wait!
If you subscribed to Mods of the Steam Workshop they will be downloaded again, this will need some time. Pay attention to the check boxes, at the beginning they will be a bit out of place, but when the Game is ready they will look like they should have to.
At first activate only the Mod parts of CPP and create a new Game. You should see your missing changes from your previous fails then.

If everything is correct you can then activate your other Mods, too. That are in the Mods folder. If you manually downloaded Mods e.g. from CivFanatics, you will need to copy those from your backup folder (ModsX) to your Mods folder, but DO NOT COPY ANY Mod part of the old CPP version to you Mods folder!

Ok that's it. I hope it will work now. If you still encounter any problem with your mods not showing up correctly, I can not help you. These are a handful steps that you have to follow and the result should be always the same if you consider each step.

GL ;)
