Community Patch - How To Install

Hi, will the CP include the VMC with 43+ and last version of this? The newest VMC have a 22 max only... And when will update?

This mod crashes way too much when doing AI turns. It's actually pretty damn unfortunate too. It's the only thing I'll be running and it'll still crash constantly.

For some reason, when I install this (43-Civ Vox Populi (including EUI)), the following don't show up in my list of mods:
  • (5) More Luxuries - CBO Edition (5-14b) (v. 155)
  • Compatibility mod with number (6a), (6b), (6c), ...
Can anyone please advise?

If you use the installer, there is an option to choose if you want to install normal 22 civs or 43 civs.
Almost all VMC features are included in CP, some of the obsolete and deprecated features are removed and replaced by a better one.

More Luxuries and also other mod compatibility are now already incorporated in (2) Vox Populi.
Any mods that need those Dependencies needs to be updated or the .modinfo file edited.

Getting back into Civ 5 and I just Installed Vox Populi for the first time and I'm having issues with the information bar shown in the attached screen shot. I used the auto installer and I feel like I did everything correctly, but must have made a mistake somewhere. Additionally, I don't have some other options in the game setup menu that I believe I should have. Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong? Also, if this is the wrong thread to ask this question I am happy to direct it somewhere else.

This is my first time installing a mod so I am pretty green at this whole process. Any help is appreciated thanks!

You'll need to install any/all recommended mods. Separately. The recommended mods are confirmed to work with CP the list will grow with time.

Hey, I know it's been a while, but can you give me some help?
I've wanted to get back into Civ 5 again after a long while and I really wanted to use this patch. Can you just explain which mods are included in the auto-install?
Are there any other mods that are listed under "Vox Populi Information" that you have to install separately? I'm finding it a little difficult to track them all down on Steam ... Is there a download list or something that you can use?

Thanks very much in advance =]

Hi,
Can I start by saying what a fantastic job the team has done on the creation of this patch. I have around 3,000 hours of playtime on Civilization V (probably around 6,000 on the Civ franchise - yes I like Civ) and this patch adds incredible depth to an already in-depth game and significantly expands replayability, and makes it even more fun! The only element I've had problems with is the reworked Espionage system (this may have since been fixed), with gold/production/technology constantly being stolen by the AI without any way to reasonably fight back, at least in my experience.
Can anyone point me to the patch notes, which show what has been updated or changed in the latest release.

Cheers.

I was having the same issue. Be sure to follow the instructions here instead of the old instructions on page 1 of this post. My problem was that I didn't go into mods once I launched the game to enable them. Best of luck all!

I would love to see the feature from civ 4 beyond the sword where if you colonized land far from your continent it could rebel and turn into it's own civ. That would be amazing to play again!

[SOLVED]

Hi,

I have the same issue as @TheFabulousOxVegas. I have:
  • Deleted the game from steam
  • Deleted the files remaining in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V
  • Deleted all the contents in C:\Users\Sergio\Documents\My Games
  • Installed the game fresh. The game is in English.
  • Installed Vox Populi (Included EUI) in one occasion and Vox Populi (No EUI) in the other
  • Enabled the mods in the corresponding "Mods" section of the main menu. Clicked next.
  • The expected "Configuring Game Data... Please Wait." message shows for a few seconds
  • Started a game
  • Nothing has changed, neither in the interface or under the hood. For example, agriculture doesn't enable shrine. Advanced settings doesn't give any option that wasn't there before.
  • The top bar is broken, as in the picture
I'm positive that the installation folders are the ones listed.

I have noticed that while Civ 5 CBP Wikia lists 6 mods:
  • (1) Community Patch (v. 88)
  • (2) Community Balance Overhaul (v. 13)
  • (3) City-State Diplomacy Mod for CBP (v. 27)
  • (4) C4DF - CBP (v. 11)
  • (5) More Luxuries - CBO Edition (5-14b) (v. 155)
  • A compatibility mod with number (6a), (6b), (6c), ... depending of your options.
I only get 5. Is this normal?
  • (1) Community Patch (v. 112)
  • (2) Vox Populi (v. 16)
  • (3a) VP - EUI Compatibility Files (v.1) (if installed with EUI)
  • (4a) Promotion icons for VP (v.6)
  • (4b) UI - Promotion Tree for VP (v.22)
Out of desperation, I tried the same steps with version 3.0.4. Identical result. So either Windows 11 is playing tricks on me or I'm macking some really stupid mistake.
Could you please help me, or tell me where to get every mod individually to debug this further?

Thank you

[SOLUTION]
After:
  • Enabled the mods in the corresponding "Mods" section of the main menu. Clicked next.
  • The expected "Configuring Game Data... Please Wait." message shows for a few seconds
A list of the mods installed will show. Don't click back, click directly on "Single player" right above the list. You are not suppossed to return to the main menu after you load the mods!

And I think it's the Zulus who fudge everyone and don't stop. Look, the guns immediately increase the range and shoot through obstacles. Impey has a blitz promotion. Mod with bugs! By the way, it may have already been discussed, but the Incas walk in the mountains... all units!!! What kind of cheat is this?

The mod is cool, but these cheats spoil the picture! Not only are imps and camel archers a cheat, so this is also.

Certain tile yields aren't displayed. Is it a bug? Can it be fixed?

I just installed 3.1.1 and have a bug where the diplomacy screens have no buttons. You also cannot initialize a trade with anyone because those controls are all missing too. The mouse over popups are nearly all blank as well. Anyone else having this issue?

Edit: I tired tinkering with the MODS folder, and now icons are no longer showing up on the right side of the screen. I tried deleting Civ 5 and reinstalling, but it didn't help. How do I get my game to work again?

  • Civ 4 Diplomacy Features, by Putmalk:
Adds Vassal States, Map and Tech trading, and more. Created by Putmalk. You can find more information here. Recently updated by Putmalk - see downloads folder below for the (4) standalone copy of C4DF (to be used alongside the CP).
Out of curiosity, where is this "downloads folder"?
