Community Patch - Modpack (Multiplayer Compatible)

@Gazebo:

Concerning the popup-desyncs, maybe these links can be helpful to find a solution/ workaround?

edit:

Vanilla BNW MP was riddled with desyncs as well. Many of the desyncs in MP are carryovers from that (and can't really be fixed, as our access to the MP syncing DLL is limited).

oh I see, thanks for the info!

As both note, we have no access to the netcode. No access to netcode (or notification UI beyond the base functions) means that we cannot change anything beyond removing things that cause desyncs.

Okay, just wanted to mention it, just in case!

I've uploaded 1/10beta2-versions. One with CBP+EUI and the other one with CP only for those who don't want gameplay changes.
Please denounce your friends often and let us know how it works! :)

1/10beta2 CBP + EUI

10/1beta2 CP only

Yes, this happens when the name of the mod's folder doesn't match the one specified in the modinfo file.
example:
(3) CSD for CBP (folder) vs. (3) City-State Diplomacy Mod for CBP (modinfo) vs. City-State Diplomacy Mod (CSD) for Brave New World (v 27) (modinfo-filename)
(4) Civ IV Diplomatic Features (folder) vs. (4) Civ IV Diplomatic Features - CBP Edition (modinfo) vs. Civ IV Diplomatic Features (v 10) (modinfo-filename)

Just copy all the missing folders manually, their contents were included in the override-files during the pack's creation, so that's no problem at all (as a matter of fact it even might break the modpack when you don't copy them).

Wait, so all THREE things have to be the exact same name? Is that a confirmed issue?

That could explain why this naming issue persists despite the attempt in MPMPM to resolve it. I never took a close look at the donated resolution code--it might be making too many assumptions about various filenames, even though it does fix a lot of the folder issues (the Colonialist Legacy mods, in particular).

Can't reproduce in singleplayer, so may have been a modpack quirk.
G

Just tried to reproduce in Multiplayer - still worked. No idea why it's not working in that one particular game *shrug* Guess it'll have to stay a mystery.

Testing with the 1/10b modpack, I'm experiencing lots of Desyncs - one every 4-5 turns. I'll upload a log dump pretty soon.

Edit: to clarify, I used a homemade 1/8 modpack with much more success. As I said in the MP thread, I got to like turn 125 with minimal desyncs.

First up, great mod. We've had hardly any desyncs (about 3) in 500+ turns.
However, there is an issue in multiplayer with diplomacy; it is impossible to have any diplomatic relations with another player. It lets the diplomatic overlay open, but nothing is selectable. My friend and I have had this issue in multiple games and we don't know how to fix it.

Hello, which version are you using? :)

same here, 1/10 beta version. trade window between human players only works when they are at war.

Hi!
Just wanted to let you guys know that there is a discussion in the CP forum about finding people to play with with the CBP mod. So if you are alone or just want to find more players to join you in the multiplayer game - join the conversation!

The 3rd CBP MP Test Game is now scheduled.

The official (or a homemade, as needed) version of the 1/14 version package will be used.

If, as I experienced with the 1/10b version, there are large quantities of desyncs, I will recommend using my (rather outdated) 1/8 package, which was fairly stable.

Please comment your interest, either here or on the steam group.

@Lynnes: If you'd prefer me to remove this advertisement, I will do so. But I wanted to reach out to MP players outside of the thread below.

No, testing MP is always welcome! :)
I'll add the 14/1 version later today!

Lynnes, add this line to VanillaLeaderChanges.sql in the CBP (under China's heading):

Code:
UPDATE Buildings
SET UnlockedByBelief = '1'
WHERE Type = 'BUILDING_PAPER_MAKER' AND EXISTS (SELECT * FROM COMMUNITY WHERE Type='COMMUNITY_CORE_BALANCE_RELIGION' AND Value= 1 );

Thanks!

Question about loading games in single player--is going back to the main menu to reload sufficient, or does one need to completely close out of Civ 5? I remember unloading the dll being necessary or something like that and didn't know if that happens properly with a DLC pack.

Yep. You can also reload in-game, should work. Loading from one entirely different game to another entirely different game while in-game can cause a CTD, though, depending on settings.

First of all amazing modpack and love playing it with my friends. However, every few turns it seems to desync for us, doesn't make it unplayable but it does get annoying. It gets worse and sometimes better going between desyncing every turn to every 5 turns(so very variable). Doesn't desync as much until 200 turns in. 3 of us are playing on a huge map(small continents) with 9 ai. We all have decent pcs so I don't think it is coming from that end.

We have all the DLC active from the civ 5 complete pack.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks

Updated both modpacks to latest 1/14.

Gazebo's fix included, achievements and Active Diplo enabled.

Hello!
Glad to hear you enjoy the CPP in multiplayer. It is still in the process of constant development when it comes to MP stability, but it keeps getting better and better, so maybe just try the 1/14 and your desync issues might be gone. :)

Thank you for the quick reply. If I update to the newest version can you still play games that were played on the previous patch?
