Community Patch - Modpack (Multiplayer Compatible)

Requested feature : being able to accept void deals
During the last game, I had at least 6 "void gift" maid by the AI (and if I've understabd correctly, it came from thé modpack and not from CBP itself). And since I'm force to refuse, I take diplo maty penalties.
Another solution would be to delete the penalty for refusing a gift. (I don't know why the AI would be angry when you don't need what it want to offer to you)

Single player issue. Using the 2/17 beta, I noticed that the AI would sometimes offer empty trades, or offer "nothing" as a token of friendship. Naturally accepting doesn't work, so the only option is to refuse, which causes a diplo hit.

Yep, this has been reported multiples times. G. said that it would probably not be fixed as his powers on MP diplo are limited.

It may be a good idea to create a "Known Bugs" post somewhere ?

That's why I proposed to allow to accept void deals (or to delete the penalty)
That does not fix the bug (the AI fail to give what she wanted to give) but at least it does not gives diplo penalties.

EDIT : Ah, ok, maybe he cannot even change that due to MP restrictions. That would be unfortunate. Sorry for re-posting if that's the case.

You can't allow void deals - that would rapidly cripple the deal manager's memory.

As to why there are void deals floating around...I don't know. Frankly. Civ 5's MP support was, and is, a nightmare.

I really thinks this is a state calculation issue. I talked about that in a previous post, but void deals are not the only bug linked to diplo state calculation :
I had the case of an AI civ asking and accepting a declaration of friendship, and then declaring war on me. I posted a screenshot : both status were ON at the same time. We were friends at war.

This happened with the modpack in solo, during the AI calculation : the Civ played first, asking for friendship, and then was bribed to go to war against me, not considering its new status (at least the game did not consider it afterward).

I could look into it more, but you get the point

The issue persists in single player though. Also, it was not a problem in 2/13, or at least, I did not notice said problem. Can anyone confirm if this is a legacy bug or a new bug in 2/17?

It is incredibly difficult, nigh impossible, for me to debug both modpack and non-modpack versions of the game, as the modpack seems to do odd things to some elements of the game's processing model. Needless to say, bugs in the non-modpack version take precedent over modpack bugs. I recommend using the auto-installer and non-modpack, if only because it functions quite well. That's not to say that I'm not going to work on the modpack, but rather that it's like managing two versions of the mod, debug-wise.

Ah, I think I know what it is, silly me. If you are using Lynnes's Modpack, it has JdH's active diplomacy enabled. That mod is specifically oriented towards Multiplayer matches only - using it in single player can and will break deals! So, please, don't use Lynnes's Active AI modpack (i.e. the standard modpack) if playing singleplayer!

Oh, would it be possible to include a workaround for this someday, so the changes are only active during MP sessions (just like it's the case for achievements in SP)?

No, too many changes from Active Diplomacy to be used in SP and MP. Active Diplomacy really needs to be used in MP only.

My strongest recommendation is to use the auto-installer for SP, and the Modpack for MP. I can't officially support any other model.

But I can play the Modpack in Mutiplayer only with AI and "ME" as one human? This should work without these problems.
