To remaining Republican soldiers:
From Spain:
Soldiers, Spanyiards, lay down your arms. Your cause is lost; a continuation of this war would only meaninglessly waste more Spanish lives. Countrymen, I am not a Fascist; I am a Nationalist, a believer in the greatness of our Spanish people and the sanctity of our Spanish soul. And now the French army has come and desecrated our homeland, as Napoleon did so many years ago. Do not be fooled into thinking they come to restore Social Democracy in Spain; they come as conquerors, as Napoleon did, to install French puppets on our throne, as Napoleon did, or worse -- to subjugate this great country under the thumb of direct French imperialism. Countrymen, soldiers, I do not speak as the head of a rival party. I speak as a fellow Spanyiard, a man who with you shares a common heritage and a common history. I urge reconciliation; let Spanyiards no more shed precious Spanish blood. Let us put aside our differences and unite against a foreign invader which seeks to destroy the land of our ancestors. And if you will not fight alongside me and your countrymen in this battle, then I urge you, lay aside your weapons and return to your homes and your children. The war is over. Let no more Spanish blood be shed by Spanish hands.
To France:
From Spain:
The invasion of Spain will not be tolerated. Withdraw from our soil. If you do not, we will fight you with all our might. We will fight you on the land, we will fight you on the sea, we will fight you in the air; we will defend our homeland, whatever the price may be. We will fight with every ounce of our strength, we will fight to the very last man, to defend our fatherland against naked imperialistic aggression. The conquest of our country by one French tyrant was enough; never again. We offer you the opportunity to withdraw with your honor intact, as we seek reconciliation and an amicable end to the fighting in Spain. However, we will not be dictated to, and we will not except French interference in our affairs. We do not wish to spill any more noble Spanish blood on Spanish swords; but we will not hesitate to spill our blood on French blades, nor French blood on our own, in defense of our homeland.
To Italy:
From Spain:
If the French are willing to withdraw and cease funneling arms to the resistance, we will withdraw our requests for further Italian aid, and, if our attempts to reconcile with the Republicans and end the war fail, finish the war with our own weapons.
To Poland:
From Spain:
Bright. Real bright.
