Complete list of Steam Achievements

Has anyone gotten one of the marathon achievements ( chop 1000 forests, build 1000 mines etc) since the patch? I hate not being able to see how many I have gotten since the log doesn't update anymore. I got the road one after the patch and now I am heavily focusing on these. I am playing a warlord game, huge map and marathon and just chopping every forest I see and mining all hills I have.

Does it count as chopped even if I don't get production for it? ( like it is so far away from my cities)

I got it a long time ago, but back then it definitely counted even if you didn't get production from it.

Best map is to play Earth, settler, and just spam like 10 workers in Siberia. Only took me a handful of games to do it that way.

cat fight i think its still broken....
and can someone help me out with how barbarians are going to ransom a city of mine?they seem dump enough to do that..

Yes it does work. I did get the 1000 Forest after the patch. I'm not sure if no-production chop adds to the "paul bunyan" achievement or not. But when I went for Mongol scenario loss, I dedicated all my resources to the forest chop :)

I'd prefer standard or quick speed to marathon. You'll waste less time choping the same amount.

It is very easy. Setup a game, where there's a lot of barbarians (preferably raging barbarians) and just wait :) When barbarians come, don't kill them. At the beginning barbs attack with warriors and spearmen and do little harm to Your city, but when see an archer, then You're saved. Wait until the archer gets You city down to 1 HP and hopefully there's a warrior or spearman to finish the job. Barbs will run away with the gold and You'll have Your achievement.

Cat fight IS still broken.

The ransom achievement is weird, I got it but the barbarians never took my city. I set the game to normal sized map, raging barbarians, at least king difficulty, and just sit back and let them ravage me.

I do think the barbs took AI's city. And You got the achievement for it :) I played it on Deity and AI wiped the barbs out easily. Only my side of the island was safe heaven for them ;)

I haven't tested but shouldn't rebels as well in this aspect count as barbs (it's barb units after all) and thus starting a game and just spamming cities until happiness drops below 20 would perhaps increase the likelyhood of enough barbs showing up to finish the job.

It's 1000 roads period. For example if city A and city B are connected by a road 8 tiles long, you get +8 towards 1000. Railroads do not count as "roads" by the computer

Yeap, i got all 5 (x1000) during January. But I'm pretty sure some changes has been made after last patch. For roads I'm 99% sure u need 1000 roads (it is not enough with 200 roads with 5 tiles per road)

any advise how to win on deity difficulty??

I did it with the old patch, where horseman were powerful. And later when I played the mongol scenario. That scenario is good because the AI doesn't expand its borders (build cities). And mongol's keshiks are really good for the hit and run. But horseman still work, just try couple times. Also I think that with Elisabeth and archipelago map You can rape Deity too. When I played on the Emperor level it felt way too easy.

Ruler of the Seas
As Elizabeth, sink and destroy 357 enemy naval units, across any number of playthroughs.

I trying to get this achievement by playing the scenario as Elisabeth. Anyone know if embarked unit counts?

Edit: Is it possible to get 350vp for "trading with china" most of the times my caravels reach china as 1, 2 and 3rd chip but i only get 200+100=300 victory points.

Embarked units do not count.

Yes, it is possible to get 350vp. I pretty much did it every time as European power. Did it once also as Inca. As European power just sail west. On most of the maps You can reach China easily before Your ship decays away.

Thx, I change strategy, now playing archipelago with raging barbarians starting in modern era.

Hmm, strange I'm 100% sure my caravel's is 1, 2 and 3 but I never get the last 50vp (playing as Elisabeth)

I am 100% sure that I received multiple times 350 vp for China. :) Might be some odd luck, that You reached China just turn later or same turn or something like that.

I remember the points for reaching China going down after I did it each time. Maybe it depends on difficulty?

You are probably right for some of achievement I have been playing on warlord level (normal is king for me).

I wonder if difficulty setting also has a general impact on achievements like sinking 357 ships is for prince level and increase if u play on warlord?

Or u can max sink 20 barbarians ships during one game?

The reason for my questions is what I have past 357 and no achievement, to bad we don't have access to log file....

I played all my New World scenario games at King level. I don't think the difficulty level affects anything but AI directly (the normal way). Also I believe that other achievements are also unaffected by the difficulty setting.
