Well when I tried moving the files out it gave me a bunch of errors when starting and then crashed.
Anyone here have a laptop cooling stand? Hows it working out for you?
SO I've tried that and no dice. However I have noticed that the computer loves to freeze when left alone and when playing intensive settings, Civ V freezes a lot, Pirates not at all.Check all your drivers are the best available ones is one thing you can try.

i have a Radeon 6850Not sure. But the next thing might be to try a new and more powerful video card.

My other computers have 300W PSUsHmm, can you test that card on a spare computer?
Have you checked your power supply? Can you add up all that you are running and make sure the wattage is high enough? And do you have a meter to see if it is working properly?
My other computers have 300W PSUs
127 GPU
95 CPU
? ODD
? 7200rpm 2.5" HDD
? MB
? 4xRAM
My system should use under 300W TDP
I don't have extra PSUs, my other computers are Dell WorkstationsI'm not expert enough on this to say with certainty, but I don't think 300W is certain to cover it. I would have to do more research. Do you have a 500+W power supply you could swap in just to test out that possibility?
Not all all sadlyDo you know anyone with a whole bunch of spare parts you could borrow?
