It's a script that refreshes the RAM.
RAM refresh script? Here's a question not worth it's own thread... er..what?!
Yes, I realise that, but a) how do you run it and b) why not just shut down instead?
it is a script for developers to set their Mac to a basically just turned on state, exit out of programs then run the attached file.RAM refresh script? Here's a question not worth it's own thread... er..what?!
it wont work on OS X because it doesn't have DLLs or exesA) I found this on a website:
1. Right click anywhere on your desktop.
2.Point over New, then select Shortcut.
3.Copy the below line (as it is):
%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
4.Paste it there & click Next.
5.Give it a name like Clear RAM
6.Thats it, run it every time your computer goes slow.
Not sure if it works on Mac though.
B) If you shut it down it takes a while to load up the computer, if you set it to hibernate it will reload a lot quicker.
How effective, in general, are laptop car chargers? Are they worth the price?
You can guess what I got when I googled it.... sigh.
no idea, but I use a DC to wall charger thing (plugin in the charger and it has a standard house port)
Occasionally on my website there's a 500 Internal Server Error. However it says to email an email address that doesn't exist. How do I change the email to the correct?
The webserver has the error pages stored on it. Since you presumably are not running the webserver yourself, that would be a question for your webhosting company. A better question to them would be why your website occasionally returns a 500 error in the first place, because that's a sign that the webserver is not functioning correctly.
Ram refresh scripts are baloney.
When you exit out of a program in OS X it doesn't purge it from memory, some of it gets moved to inactive RAM so in theory when you boot it up again it goes really fast which it does, but when you suddenly need a couple more gigs of RAM it doesn't exit out fast enough. The script purges inactive RAM so you can get those gigs back. Also when you don't reboot every week the RAM slowly gets used up and doesn't get released. I run the script once a week and I never have RAM issues
OS X deals with memory internally in a much better way than your script.
2. I read somewhere if for some reason your computer starts downloading a malware to unplug the router. Is this true? If it if I might tell my mom that.
