CONE1-diety 5CC modified

We are even with Spain, England & Arabs. Ahead of Egypt & Aztecs by Corporation and behind China.

The next couple of sets should be quite peaceful. In 20 turns we should be able to have 4 4-cavalry armies and 25-30 artillery with infantry support. That should be enough to stomp what's left of England and allow us to turn our attention to Spain. I don't think we can do more than encourage lots of war on the other island until we finsh off our neighbors.

Once this entire island in ours, we should have the production base launch a trans-ocean invasion on the weak sister over there.

Turn Log 2

Turn 0 – 1000 BC – Reset personal preferences – Move settler to new city site – MM a little to speed productions (slowing growth) – No trade opportunities

IBT: ZZZ

Turn 1 – 975 BC – Settler founds Antioch starts Immortal – Move Workers to road North – Move Northern Immortals to threaten barbarian camp – Send Southern Regular Immortal north for training on barbarians – No trades available – BTW No one has iron hooked up but us and only the Zulu have horses connected

IBT: Babylon starts Colossus (OH, for me, you shouldn’t have)

Turn 2 – 950 BC – Workers build road segment – Regular Immortal fortifies in woods – Veteran Immortal sent south – Buy Aztec worker for 30g (it’s past 1000BC so this is ok) – New worker sent to connect furs

IBT: Susa Immortals->Worker

Turn 3 – 925 BC – New Immortal sent south – slave starts road – workers move to next segment – Immortals moving on current orders

IBT: Immortal (4/4) defends against Barb Warrior and promotes

Turn 4 – 900 BC – Workers build road segment – Immortals travel on orders – Switch Persepolis to settler (claim the dyes) – Vet Immortal from north MP in Pasagarde – Zulus have Mathematics, but I don’t want to pay monopoly prices

IBT: Forest chop complete for Pasagarde – Arbela barracks->Immortal

Turn 5 – 875 BC – Southern worker starts mine – Northern worker move and mine for Arbela – Immortals still moving on orders – no changes in the trade arena

IBT: Immortal (4/4) defends against Barb Warrior – Persepolis Settler->Immortal – Susa Worker->Immortal

Turn 6 – 850 BC – New worker moves to mine iron – Settler heading north – no trade changes

IBT: Workers complete mine

Turn 7 – 825 BC – Workers move to connect dyes – Immortal & Settler nearly to spot – no trade changes

IBT: Southern worker completes mine

Turn 8 – 800 BC – Southern worker moves to hill – 4th Vet Immortal arrives in Pasagarde – Settler arrives on spot – regular Immortal reaches woods

IBT: Slave finishes connecting fur

Turn 9 – 775 BC – Settler founds Tarsus – Vet Immortal MP in Tarsus – Workers start road to dyes – Regular Immortal fortify in woods – Slave moves to road GL – Southern worker begins hill road – Trade 95g to Zulu for Mathematics – Trade Mathematics + 88g + 4gpt + WM to Babylon for Map Making – Trade Map Making to Zulu for 123g – Trade Map Making to Aztecs for 33g + WM – Trade TM with Zulu – research Philosophy at max (due in 8)

IBT: ZZZ

Turn 10 – 750 BC – Slave starts road – Vet Immortal #5 reaches Pasagarde

The 2 workers on the dyes will have them connected next turn and that should end happiness problems for quite a while – I picked Philosophy as a cheap tech with Republic in mind – We’ve got 6 Veteran Immortals and a regular waiting for barbarians to promote him, we’ll have 3 more in less than 5 turns – Note: I gave Babylon a gold per turn deal, so no war with him for the next 20 turns. We should probably let him finish Colossus before attacking him anyway.

First place Persia score 133 at 750 BC - turn 90

I think you have the wrong thread.

 Great job. I can see you wiped out england and half of the continent in progress. What happened to the other civs, You must have destroyed half the planet also because they are in a black space. No fun. I wanted to do that.

Denyd what am I going to do with you.

OOPS

I guess I shouldn't try these 2 no sleep sessions any more (to bed at 2am and up at 6am, then playing til midnight)

first, the 1120AD save

Preflight check: MM some stuff, redo some worker jungle clears to get Pasargade and Persopolis optimized. Fire some clowns, hire some taxman, keep some clowns so we get WLTKD in some places

IBT: lots of WLTKD’s breakout, add a new floor to the east wing of the palace

T1: 1030AD chop, rr, tax starve, etc.

IBT: York flips to England (losing a rifle?)causing us to lose silks and we lose our spices due to a deal ending. :( This causes a lot of WLTKD’s to end and 1 town riots (I flip thru to make sure I hire enough clowns to prevent more from rioting).

T2: 1040AD Trade: Aztecs: Spices, 4gpt, WM & 29gpt for The Corporation; Ur is really a low corruption city but only make 4spt so I’ll concentrate on upgrading the land around this city.

IBT: England and China sign alliance vs Aztecs; China completes Hoover’s Dam

T3: 1050AD Upgrade some rifles along the Spanish border

IBT: Nottingham flips to England (lose an infantry and 2 immortals)

T4: 1060AD More terrain improvements, etc.
Trades: China: WM & 28gpt for Dyes; 28gpt for Incense

T5: 1070AD More terrain stuff; Rush a library in Dover to guard against flips

T6: 1080AD Army finished and loaded.

T7: 1090AD More terrain stuff.

T8: 1100AD ditto

T9: 1110AD Everyone is up at least Free Artistry. Most are up Steel as well. China will deal steel for 106gpt and 824g but this seems too much.

IBT: Monty demands rubber and I tell him to stick it. He declares war on us.

T10: 1120AD China will still deal steel to us for a lot of dough but there's no advantage to do this since almost everyone knows it. No one else wants our money

I built some research buildings in Pers and Pas, hoping to boost research output. We can research Espionage, Steel in 17, Refining in 27, and AT in 33. Not so good for a Scientific civ :)

Too bad about those flips - I was concerned about how close they were to London & the fact that we are low on the culture ladder.

It might be time to squeeze in a couple of libraries & universities during the war preparations combat future flips. I had thought about going for London, but without Spanish support, I didn't think we had the troops for it.

I knew sooner or later, either China or Aztecs were going to get us involved in the wars on the other island. At least the Aztecs shouldn't trouble us very much considering they are on the bottom of a dog pile.

Looks like Conehead234 gets a quiet set, while preparing for the (final) next assault on England. We should have 3 Cavalry Armies and a chunk of artillery/infantry to lead this assault. I would suggest York first (reclaim those silks) then London & Nottingham. If we can then get Coventry & Hastings to fall, the rest of England will domino into our empire. Then it's on to Spain.

I hoping that China won't be able to get a conclusive UN vote and will be forced to go for a Space win. We will probably have enough tme to finish off England & Spain and land on the other island before she can launch, giving us a shot and bringing down the space ship. I do worry about getting nuked at that point of the game.

Yeah, i thought they were going to flip so I moved all of the cav and most infantry out of them. I think we lost a total of 4 or 5 units. could have been a lot worse.

re: space... if we're gonna launch a ship, we're going to need to do some of the research ourselves. universities should start going up to help.

UR is going to be a powerhouse with a factory so that land should continue to be developed. We may want to think about hospitals in Pers and Pas to earn more gold and more shields. Pers is doing 51spt and Pas is doing 80spt at the moment. i can't recall if they have powerplants. they should if they don't already. even a coal plant right now will help, even if it's dirty. it'll help build the hydro plant later.

The Space comment was regarding China building a ship. I don't expect us to be able to launch without a serious war effort on the other island. My hopes for victory are to take over our island and start with the weak sister on the other island and keep grabbing land until we reach the domination limit.

We'll never win a vote or cultural and I don't see us out researching the AI for space or lasting long enough for histographic, so the most logical victory condition for us is domination. To do that, we need to start with our own island and England is the best place to start.

Did we get any oil when refining came in? If not we'll need to prioritize our English campaign to acquire some. We can probably take out England with cavalry armies & artillery, but I'd really like to have a couple of tank armies on hand before we start the war with Spain.

If we can get Ur pumping out tanks (or cavalry/infantry if no oil), Pers building artillery and Pars armies, we should have enough troops to take on England when the treaty ends for Gozpel (the Mighty :hammer: ) to begin the war.

Wishful thinking (confusing Bugs1 again).

We'll need to find out about the oil situation soon, to determine if it's tanks or cavalry vs English Infantry.

do you realize gozpel is up next? i think if you want try to fit it in this weekend and we should be fine. no hurry ;)

1-Workers work. Buy gems from China for WM and 461 gold.

4- movements.
IT-Canterbury artillery->cav. Pasargadae army->army, Warwick cav->cav. Antoich artillery->duct. Richmond cav->cav. Lugo rax->temple.
5- Spain has Refining now. I have a plan. Buy Refining from Spain for WM, 168 GPT and 787 gold. We have no oil, spain has 2 by our border and england has 1 by the tundra in the north. Part 2. I tell spain to get out or declare war. They declare. Part 3 sign England vs spain for Dyes. Trade Refining and iron to Arabia for Steel and WM. Sign Egypt vs Spain for Coal, get 49 gold. Sign China vs spain for 3 GPT, WM and 433 gold. Start Bombarding Spainish units in our territory. Use all avaible cavs and start an all out attack on spanish troops, for the lose of 1 cav we kill Pike-11, MI-10, Spear-2 rifle-2. Shuffle troops and hope for the best.
IT- China wants to buy Rubber for 27GPT. Manage to get it up to 48GPT, WM, and 17gold. Just reliezed that china has over 18000 gold. Kill a rifle and retreat 3 cavs. PErsepolis cav->cav. Bablyon Infantry=>cav. Ashur rax->cav. Zamora artillery->cav. Machester temple->cav.
6- Load 3 infantries into an army.Lose 1 immortal, kill 3 pikes, 1 spear, 5 cavs, 2 infantrys. Destroy spanish roads along the border to slow them down. IT- Retreat a cav and conquestior, Ur Market->cav.
7- Lose 1 cav, Kill 3 cav, 3 Guerillas, 1 conquestior, 1 rifle.
IT-Kill a guerilla, lose an immortal, Persepolis cav->cav, Susa cav->cav, Arbela cav->cav, Eridu Infantry->Infantry. Samarra artillery->artillery.
8- Lose 1 cav, BOmbard and kill 3 infantry, 1 guerilla, 2 cavs.
IT- Kill a cav, Canterbury Cav->Cav. Zariqum cav->cav. China builds shakespeare.
9- Trade Corporation to Egypt for Wines, FA, WM, and 29 gold. Able to drop lux to 0. Lose cavs, kill 1 cav, 4 infantry. Auto Raze Merida losing a cav and killing 2 infantries and a guerilla. Take a capture Alicante losing a cav, killing 2 infantries. RR up to Alicante. Attack Cadiz, lose a cav, kill 2 infantry. The oil is still not in our borders.
IT-China cancels our Ivory deal. Get the Ivory back for Silks and 9 gold. Spain wants peace no way. We need the oil. Persepolis cav->cav. Richmond cav->cav. Gloucester court->duct.
10- Rush Library In Alicante. Set up our oil attack force near Ellipi. I am going to play an extra turn.
IT- Extend peace with England. Bablyon riots opps. UR cav->cav. Pasargadae army->pentagon. Alicante Library->temple.
11-Bombard Ellipi, lose 5 cavs kill 3 infantry and the oil is still not in our borders, we will get it after a border expansion. Try to take Elche but the RNG is bad and we cannot kill the last infantry.

There is an empty army in Bablyon. There are workers under our artillary/infantry stack by Ellipi. Next turn use them to road and RR the tile they are on and renforce Ellipi and try to take Elche. Keep on producing cavs. We might be able to take a good chunk out of Spain. Finish my dream and take the oil from Spain.
