Continents info

Be intresting if the game actually made continental shelfs and built landmasses and mountain ridges based on that

I've been thinking the same thing since this thread was made. It would make things more natural and help define "subcontinents" on Pangaea maps. It should start generating a map by placing plates first, then continents/subcontinents based off of them.

On this video by BAStartGaming he mentions seeing a continent map mode / lenses. If that is true, then I think it's a given that either multiple landmasses can be one continent or one landmass can be divided in multiple continents, if not both. There would be no need for a continent lens if it was the previous system of each landmass being one.

This seems the logical basis for procedurally generated maps.

I wonder about that too. I always play Pangaea maps. But we still have 14 civs to get full details, So I would assume their are certain traits that will play well on a Pangaea map.

But yeah play as the Americans on a Pangaea is abit OP, so I wonder which civ and trait would counter this

Do not worry, sections of the pangea map will be nominally declared one continent or the other. Or it would be really broken :) similarily island groups will be nominally placed into one continent or the other.
