Cookbook #2 - horrible difficulty

Oh... that would explain it.
Seems like you had abit more luck with barbs in this one. :)

Guess Buffy is nice, I do like the chopping stuff and no need for 100s of markers since game remembers pre-built improvements. Favorite feature: Warning about hammer decay on units, so don't have to remember when I started something. Cool :).

I just wonder, does it have this "overflow hammers turn into gold"-feature? Not a big fan of that change if so. Hmm. Are there any other gameplay changes at all?

It does have the overflow to gold thing. Honestly, discussion on that is neither here nor there, but shouldn't really be a factor for normal speed, "regular" games like this one. At least I don't know of anyone who regularly uses the trick outside of crazy HOF setups. Another minor bug/advantage is that, from the F1 screen under "city info", you can see the coordinate locations of your cities even without centering the world map. Again, not really game-altering, but I suppose someone could use it to decide which way to explore or send out caravels or something.

Caramba! Got carried away and played to T45.

Edit: Nothing special happened between 40-45, just ordinary barbs and a handful of barbs with an attitude.

Overflow into gold is okay, relaxing if there are no worries about wasting some hammers when whipping smaller units or buildings.

9 brave players already

You can still submit your T40 autosave (if available)

Hammers overflow into gold?
I have seen the info in buffy, but I haven't figured out how it effects gameplay. I have never gotten any overflow gold from say... whipping a warrior when I have 5 hammers invested into the warrior. The 5 hammers are simply lost.
Have tried to search for info about this, but I have only found a bunch of threads from 10+ years ago that utilized mechanics that I thought was outdated.

Greetings,
when I discovered the Saladin game it was already too late to join, so I played this one instead. I don't play deity, but when I play I do prefer horrible/tundra/desert starts to make immortal more challenging - and more rewarding when you finally emerge from the tundra to conquer the floodplains. Wonder how this will pan out against the bunch of lunatics on this map though...
