COTM103 Hittites - Pre-game discussion
Hello everyone and welcome to COTM103. This month features Mursilis of the Hittites, sworn enemy of Egypt. Your tribe is benefits from expansionist and commercial traits, and has gained the knowledge of alphabet and pottery.
The Hittite unique unit is the three man chariot which replaces the standard chariot. In real life this chariot was heavier and more stable than the Egyptian chariot and provided a better platform for fighting. Of the three occupants, one was the driver, another the shield bearer and finally of course there was the javelin thrower. In the game, the Hittite war chariot is more powerful in both attack and defence than the standard chariot, and requires horses to build. The cost for building is also higher.
This game continues to employ the almost out-of-the box Conquests scenario, though there are one or two minor tweaks for simple game play balance purposes.
This game has been modified from the standard COTM scenario in order to provide the chance of popping workers from huts in lieu of settlers. Note that it is still possible to pop cities from huts. Any technical or game play issues associated with this change should be reported to the GOTM staff immediately.
Here is your start position.
