Could russia be responsible for the attacks on Kabul?

Russia has been fighting islam for years now especially in the criminal state of chechnya...possibly the missiles fired upon kabul are russian i source NOT american (my dad says the american are denying that they are attacking Kabul).

Putin went to his military today aswell to discuss measures...maybe they have got the ball rolling sooner being in a better position to do so...

Anyone got the latest info?

There´s a civil war over in Afghanistan. It´s a retaliation of the Northern Alliance against the Taliban for earlier Taliban attacks, which perhaps injured or killed one of the leaders of the resistance.<br />It´s not like world war 3 is starting or anything.

This sounds even more premature than such a US retaliation would be. But I doubt the russians are in a position to make this kind of attack so swiftly. It's unlikely, but interesting though. If the russians had some intelligence the US didn't, they'd probably share it with the US first. Wouldn't they?

It sounds more like another endless chapter of the Afghanistan civil war.

Maybe that is for the best.The Afhans smogul a lot of drugs over the border of tadjikistan and the russians try to stop them.The drugs are for the european market.Russia seeks friendship with Europe ,and as a european i would be glad if russia could join the E.U (they are poor ,bu have a lot (a lot!à of oil).Rusia could be a usefull ally for America now.Fighting certain terrorist group's in the middle east could bring them toghether ,Russia and America can uses eachother's strenth and tactical positian's in that region.If only America and Russia could be friends.

I thought that Poetin gave a good signal there.

Russia have tried to fight Afghanistan for years and they could not achieve much, so all I can say to Americans-Good luck we are with you, but fighting fanatic terrorists the way Americans have been doing for years - bomb, bomb, bomb is pointless!!!!!

I did hear somewhere that the Russkies have moved 3 (or was it 2) armored divisions to the Tadjik border. Anyone else hear this???This was done after the opposition leader got done in, but could also be seen as connected woth current events in the region. There are certainly a lot of Russian officers looking to avenge their comrades and honour, and redeem their army for what happened in Afghanistan.

But no, rebels launched missiles. If it was someone else, there would be a lot more damage and notice.
