Man, I have absolutely nothing to distract me right now. This is straight painful.

( Granted, my mind isn't quite "right" and I have a tendency to get fixated. So I'm probably not coping as well as most would )

I suspect that I'll need to download the entire expansion. I can't find any sign of the "expansion2" folder mentioned in this forum and checking the DLC options when I open Civ does NOT show a grayed out Brave New World DLC choice. When G&K was released at midnight, I had a 2 - 3 hour download before I could play. So.. starting play 5 or 10 minutes past midnight doesn't look likely for me.

I got a nap in this evening. I'll likely just stay up now until 11pm here and fire up a game. I think I played till around 4am when Gods and Kings dropped. I'll probably do that again tonight.

I've pre-ordered the game but only after the latest patch and no pre-load for me.

Strangely, if I start up the game and try to click on "DLC" from the main menu, nothing happens; not even a pop-up to enable/disable my current DLC.

Great work.

It hurts because it's true.

Don't forget step 4: Slowly forsake the PC as a platform and justify it by citing the piracy you helped create almost deliberately.

It never does. I think it's too late for that gambit...just have to wait with everyone else for the bewitching hour.

I agree with the sentiment, but to nitpick: this picture misquotes the line

I do not think it means what you think it means.

They loose their City State status like if Austria bought them (first Venice screen shot). So you can't. Both Austria and Venice in a game is gonna be frustrating if you are a City State lover.

What I really want to try is a game on a larger map with a metric assload of city states and Austria, Venice, Greece, and Mongolia, with all victory conditions except diplomatic and domination disabled. That could be a fun free-for-all.

Has this worked for anyone since the patch hit? I think there was a window of an hour or three after it did where people got the preload, but apart from that, I don't think we've heard of anyone downloading it since, have we?

Well I believe I pre-ordered it on 7/2 and got the preload.
