Crashing when opening Civilapedia

Hi

Just downloaded CIV 5 from Steam. Purchased new notebook in anticipation of game. Played for a couple of hours and needed to open Civilapedia to check something. Game crashed and hadn't auto saved at any point.
Just started again and checked Civilapedia at the start. Game crashed again.
Note book is high spec i7, 600GB, Nvidia +++etc
What do I need to do to resolve this issue.

Any help greatfully accepted

Played again. Crashed when trying to save.
Game will not load at all now. Crashes on start up. Tried Direct9 and 11

That happens to me a lot too, crashes on open Civlopedia, crashes after saving a game, crashes when browsing through list of saves. Also autosave is broken when using mods.

Inherently the game seems so incredibly unstable, when are they releasing the crash fix? This is actually putting me off playing the game.
