Creation Day

oh right then, yeh i see your point. Just seemed like a good idea at the time. im not running for president i always get crap positions in my civ games, i dont want the whole of the demogame after me. :)

The poll to determine how the people felt about who should schedule the date and time for Creation Day is now closed. The poll results show the nation split on the decision, 9-9-1. Good thing we polled this one.

I'm re-opening discussion on this issue so that we may further probe the pros and cons of the topic. I urge everyone to participate as we need to hear from the nation as a whole. I will repoll this issue when the discussion dies down.

Here is the poll.

OK, quiet down, :worship: don't everyone speak up at once.

We need to look at the big picture here. What we are trying to accomplish here is a Demogame, not a single player game. We want as many people involved in being a Mayor or a Governor or whatever. We don't want to purposely limit participation by giving ourseles a small map filled with mountains. That would be rediculous. We need a large world with plenty of room for growth. We can only ensure this by choosing what type of world we play in. Let's not choose Random for these options as we may be screwing ourselves for no reason.

In the next poll abandon Random.

It appears that no one has any additional comments about this subject, so I will repoll it now.

And this poll is about who decides the Creation Date and Time - The citizens or the President. The blurb below deals with the mess that arose when people decide to vote random on an issue but voted choice on the other two issues.

Abandon Random! Promote the Demogame participation!

The second polling of the Creation Date and Time scheduling can be found here. Please choose who will be deciding the actual Date and Time of the Creation Day Ceremony. The Options are:

The President

or

The Citizens

or

Abstain

The Options we will select when creating our new world at the Creation Day Celebration have been recorded in post 13 of this thread.

This link will take you to them.

Ok, People. Even though the elections are not finished, we must think ahead as far as Creation Day goes. In a recent poll, the nation came together in deciding who would determine the Date and Time for the Creation Day Celebration. It's pretty obvious that Rik Meleet is going to win the Presidency and during the Nomination process, he declared that certain days in the begining of the Month of January were looking good as far as scheduling goes. Here are the tentative dates and times listed below ~

quoting Rik Meleet:
My proposals for the Creation Day chat are :
1.* Friday Januari 2nd around 22:00 RMT or later (22:00 RMT = 21:00 GMT = 16:00 New York Time).

2.* Saturday Januari 3rd around 10:00 RMT = 09:00 GMT = 04:00 NYT.

3.* Sunday Januari 4th around 22:00 or 24:00 RMT = 21:00 or 23:00 GMT = 16:00 or 18:00 NYT.

4.* Monday Januari 5th 19:00 RMT = 18:00 GMT = 13:00 NYT.

5.* Tuesday Januari 6th 01:00 RMT = 00:00 GMT = 19:00 NYT.

Rik Meleet said he would base his decision on input from the citizens. I believe we should now give him that input. Please post below which of the possible dates and times above that suit you best.

I'll start off. Saturday would be the best day for me and I could hang for a short chat at 1am in the morning, but I don't believe very many people on the East coast would attend.

Friday or Sunday would be equal for me as they would be 1pm in the afternoon here on the West coast. But I think Sunday would be better for the Nation because more people could attend.

So I'm going to vote for RM's 3rd Option, Sunday. Even though that's a long time past the end of the elections, it's still our best Option IMHO.

Option 2 is best for me. For that matter anything between 10pm and 2am MST (GMT-7) lands between baby feedings and I can hopefully adjust the little one's schedule to line up. However, if you want advice during future chats in this window, I'm likely to be quite incoherent... ;)

I'm working during the weekday times for options 4 and 5. Option 4 lands during lunch which makes it more likely I can actually participate.

:D RM, That's 1am (in the morning) on Saturday for me. That means I stay up until 1 in the morning on a Friday night. Sometimes they let me do that. ;)

1, 3, and 5 work best for me. I'm not going to get up any earlier than 05:30 (hence eliminating 2), and 4 would be in the middle of my school day. I am also surprised at the number of other Americans willing to get up at 04:00 (4:00 AM); at that rate, Shaitan's famous early morning turnchats should have been quite popular. ;)

It now appears that Creation Day will be on Sunday, January 4. Now we just need to set a time. We are awaitng the President's decision on this, I believe.

[dance] Ok, People. Time for the Birth of Our Nation. :bday:

The Turn Chat Instruction thread has been posted:

Sunday January 4th 2100GMT = 1600NYT

If you live on the East Coast (USA) that's 4PM

If you live on the West Coast (USA) that's 1PM

The Turn Chat will probably last 15 minutes to 1 half hour officially. :king:

 Be there or be square!:cooool:
