Crisis in South America

No wonder Google maps weren't showing the border between Paraguay and Argentina. :p

In other words.....

APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!!1

Now who among you did I have going there for a few minutes?

I didn't believe it for a minute. :smug:

First thing I thought was "are they going to call this the April Fool's Day war?"

The second thing I thought was, "since when did Argentina have hundreds of airplanes that could be made available for a strike".

Brazil can pwn the entire South America at the same time...

No country in South America can pwn even a handful of other South American countries at once. Geography, and the relatively small capabilities of all of the militaries means a sustained offensive wouldn't be very possible. The defensive would be king there.

Invading the Amazon? Good luck. Invading other countries through the Amazon? Have fun with your supply lines.

Yes - terrain is extremely difficult (mountains, jungle), and infrastructure is very low. Thus, any attacker is going to have a terrible time.

The Andes, and the Amazon - are among the hardest places in the world to fight an offensive war, along with the jungles of SE Asia, and places like New Guinea in the Pacific (again - mountainous jungle, with very low infrastructure). Plus the obvious large remote mountain ranges, where the passes are primitive, few & narrow. I'd actually say that Peru and Ecuador could hold off all the other SA countries, in a ground invasion. Funny as it may sound.

You know silver, those seem like quotes from various nes updates :p

Thing is that, except Brazil, all other nations would be effectively brought to their knees with the loss of their capital city, making the logistic of the war much easier to handle. Other than that you are right, and exhaustion tactics by blocking commerce, and with bombings of supply lines, would be the most effective and least expensive strategy.

Thing is, what is to be gained? Except perhaps taking Venezuela's oil... err, freeing their people.. Or maybe Bolivia's pipes...People! We could get Petrobras rightfully owned installations back for us while at that ;)

Regards :).

Hey Fred, if the USA supports Brazil in conquering all of South America, would you all support us in finally making Canada our newest State(s)?

Nah, we are too gregarious a nation. If we invaded the rest of South America, we would probably build hospitals for them and leave with an apology.

Honestly - is there a Nation in the world with less wars in it's history than Brazil (among the great nations, I mean, not those which are isles smaller than a median city)?

I can even see the newspaper... 'Brazil is the new World Power, after conquering all South America', 'Brazil sends help to the USA in the USA-Canadian war', 'Petrobrás Instalations are Brazilian propriety again', 'Oil is one of the newest riches of Brazil', 'Brazil to become one of the world's Superpowers.

Relatively on topic, you Brazilians should go get the Paradox game 'Victoria'. Play as Brazil, starting 1836, and see what... is possible. Brazil is known as THE 'beginner's starting country' - because it incredibly easy to come in as a n00b (this game is a bit sophisticated), play as Brazil, and do really well even without knowing what you're doing. So, imagine what you can do if you DO know what you're doing.

And Fred, if that 'plan' you mention actually happens, it won't do anything but help my portfolio - I own plenty of (NYSE: ) PBR. ;)

Hmm, maybe if Germany had the Brazilian women and beaches, neither world war would have happened. Maybe that's what's keeping you in check. :mischief:

Brazil is quite a bit harder in Revolutions, though. The fact that you have to use capitalists hampers Brazil in the beginning, which doesn't have much of a starting industrial base like Europe or America to begin with.
