Just a quick note Tallanas, as my answer indicates, there's actually TWO seperate and correct answers to question 1 depending on how far back into English history we go :)

(I'm hoping that since I gave both fully I might get 5 points for that question alone) :mischief:

 You'll get all the points on offer and not a single one more!

Although there were indeed two different times in English history that there were 3 kings ruling in one year, only one of those dates is referred to as "The Year of Three Kings" (capital letters, and everything!)

You got it, though ;)

10. PICTURE QUESTION!! This is the first page of which English poem?

Beowulf

There you go! Hope you enjoyed it... And I hope you all liked the picture question, even if it was a bit tough :D

The winner is Private Hudson

Just two notes:

Bennigsen was actually born in the Duchy of Brunswick, not Hannover, but he did later serve in the Hanovarian army. For information on him see here and go to the link General Graf von Bennigsen :) I don't know if Hannover owned Brunswick at the time, but since the site lists the two places seperately I'd guess not.

The second English year under three kings I mentioned was 1483. In 1483, Edward IV died and his son Edward V took the throne. Only aged 12 at the time his uncle (Richard III) became regent, and so the story goes locked Edward V and his brother in the tower of London. Richard then got Parliment to declare Edward V illitimate due to his parents marriage being declare illegal and took the throne about a month later.

I will endeavour to do mine ASAP :)

Well, well, well! I didn't know that about old Leonty! Crafty swine, being born in Brunswick, not Hanover.

Apologies for that one.

As for the other, 1483 may well have seen 3 different kings on the throne, but it's never been known as the "Year of the Three Kings"! That's good old 1066.

I look forward to yours :)
