I can't really speak for Czech (even though it's so similar to Bosnian that I can often understand it), but the three main Yugoslavian languages are among the most phonetic (is that the right word?) in the world.. that is to say, if you see a word for the first time, you immediatly know how it's pronounced, and vice versa. English (no offense to the English) is completely off in this respect and this poses a huge problem for foreigners trying to learn it. There are plenty of vowels, it's just that when you can easily pronounce brzljakszija there's not as much of a need to have one every other letter.
