Is there a color for the custom avatars that can be used so my little robot dude doesn't have a border?

Well his background was already a solid colour and the image was not difficult to separate from the background. Your avatar however has a background with lots of colours and would take more than the 10 seconds i have to spare :) Sorry ;)

I am surprised Neomega doesn't know how to make GIFs transparent.

BTW, do you still want to be banned, anarchy? ;)

so is the color magenta?

NM: thanks anarky, I'll download the gif and investigate....

EDIT: So it requires using a safety Palette?

I dont get it, can someone explain... to satisfy my curiosity?

You don't change it to a specific color; instead you set the picture to a transparent background. Different picture editors do this in different ways, but for example in Corel PhotoHouse, the editor that I use, you go to Image/Image Properties..., and check "Transparent background." Then set the page color to the color that's in your picture's background (in your case white).

It's sort of the same for many other picture editors. Tell us what you use and someone here could probably give you specific instructions. :)

Edit: And if all you have is Paint, I'm not sure that you can give it a transparent background in Paint.

Edit2: Actually I do know of a way to give pictures transparency in Paint, although it's kind of hard. What you do is use the free-form tool (which has the dotted star icon) to select the foreground part (the part that you don't want to be transparent), and cut and paste it into a new window, save it, and it will have a transparent background.

Try this. I can't guarantee it'll be any good on the various schemes here, as I can't be bothered to spend more than a minute on it.

No probs. Let me know if you want it improved.

Does it have to be a gif? Or can it be a jpeg? And can I make a transparent background in microsoft paint?
