Customization idea: Civ borders that are easier to see quickly

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm having one heck of a time trying to see any of the civ's borders. They get lost in the trees, jungles, etc. Just like Civ III, I had to use someone's border mod to be able to readily see everyone's borders.

Just a suggestion...

And I think that the borders are not a file, but a mask. Then it will be more difficult to change them.

Kroym does have a good point though, and if there's any way to mod it, I'd be interested as well. I might just have to look into that tonight or tomorrow.

One thing I noticed is that the border layer seems to hover a little bit above the ground (when you zoom in as close as possible, especially around rivers)... so I wonder if there is any way to extend the height of this layer in plots with forests and jungles?
