CVNNES - To Rule An Empire

@Constantine

Yes, but I haven't time. Send a PM, please.

Freedom of Religion in the Empire of Hellenes

In a stunning move, the Emperor Alexander has ordered the persecution of religions and sects other than Catholicism to cease. He has ordered that the temples and churches of the persecuted be rebuilt and to freedom of religion to be declared in the Empire. It is assumed the Emperor has ordered such due to possible rebellion by the persecuted peoples and due to the Emperor of Rome's order to stop persecuting Christians. The Archbishop of Christendom has agreed with the Emperor that the persecution must stop.

To Rome:

Glory! For all of the world will be amazed at the mercy of the two Empires of Hellenes and Rome. We agree to better relations with you and we even are interested in trade. May both Empires prosper!

To the Visigoths:

End your expansion into the Empire of Hellenes or we will be forced to retaliate.

In a somewhat stunning move,

All empires come and go, and the crubling of these empires create other empires, some better than the original. Shu-Han was the break-off of the might Han dynasty Shu-Han fought with the break-offs of the Han dynasty until it was powerful enough to create it's own dynasty. The leader Liu Bei, named so after the man who created the Shu dynasty, dreamed of a united China, under one Dynasty. So too dreamed the surrounding dynasties, and war would be immienent. War was coming once again to China, and the Shu dynasty would emerge victorius, or dead.

Diplomacy
To Wu
From the Shu-Han

Greeting brothers! I come to offer an alliance, a mutual protection pact of sorts. I also ask for a trade route, so that both our nations might prosper. Surely your people remember how you invaded use a few centuies ago? We will forget it if you agree to the above offers. After all, was it not us that helped you, you, from the Wei at Chi Bi. We allied ourselves then, so why not now? Should we agree, our nations will be impenitarable, since the rivers protect you from the northern Wei, while our mountians protect us. *secert* We could also agree to attack the Wei to the north and split their territory between us*secert* We await your reply.

Is there any benefit for persecution? If not, why should any nation do it?

It gets rid of pesky anti-government religions. Also, a heavily Christian nation, for example, might support the persecution of Druids and thus increase confidence. Remeber, this 460 CE, not 2004 CE.

DIPLOMACY:

From: Gupta
To: Vakatas (or whoever those red guys right next door to me are)

Greetings! We propose an Alliance between our two peoples, to strengthen the bond of our peoples for all time. What say you?

OOC: IRL, just to let you know, the Guptas and the Vakatas had an alliance from the start... That's what helped one dominate the north and the other the south.

OOC: I'll let Gupta and Vakatas work out on their own whether they wish to be allied.

I'm not going to do NPC diplomacy until tomorrow so everyone has a chance to claim their nations first.

OOC; here to claim Wu! ;)

Wu Orders
Spend 1 economy on education, build more schools, especially in the countryside to teach the sons and daughters of the peasants and farmers how to write.

Spend 1 economy on navy, hire the people to work on the ships in state owned shipyards instead of awarding contracts to shipyards.
