Prelude to War in Britannia
Britannian and Roman forces have pushed far north into Pictish territory, and the Picts have fled before the vast armies of Rome and Britannia. Few losses occurred for either side, boosting the morale of the Britannian troops. The Picts seem to be massing for a counterattack.

Iberia
In Iberia, the Celtic peoples have assaulted a number of Hispanian border fortresses and conquered all regions north of the River Tagus. The Hispanians have rallied in the east, however, and driven back an Iberian attempt to drive them from the mountains. The Iberians are exhausted, and cannot continue their offensive effectively.

The Gothic Wars
War breaks out between the Hellenic Empire and both Gothic peoples! The Visigoths have retreated northward across the Danube, burning all bridges across, as well as some of their own ships, the prevent easy passage by the Hellenic forces. While the Hellenic Empire moved quickly to reoccupy the region and to assault the Visigoths from behind, they were taken by surprise by an Ostrogothic attack on their forts in the Crimea. A highly effective diversion tactic by the Ostrogoths results in a rout of Hellenic forces, though the Ostrogoths suffer many casualties against the superiorly-armed Hellenics. Most of the Hellenic army in the area has been cut off from the main force and the Hellenes have fled southward on the peninsula, many getting in ships bound for home. News of the defeat quickly reaches Antioch, and the Emperor has begun to fall out of favor.

The Pope Speaks
Enraged at the sudden shift of policy within the Hellenic Empire and the loss of considerable influence on his part due to the cessation of persecution of non-Christians and closer relations with Rome, the Holy Father has declared the Hellenic Empire decadent and failing, and has called upon the people to revert to true faith in the Lord. The Hellenic Empire is in disarray, with many protesting the tolerance of lesser religions in the Empire, and persecution of non-Christians continues out of sight of the Imperial authorities.
-1 Confidence for the Hellenic Empire
The Popes message also carries weight in Egypt, though he also showed his support for the Egyptian attempt to reconquer the Holy Land. In any case, resistance to the idea of tolerance in Egypt has been less than in Hellenes, and non-Christian sects gain much influence.
Persian Invasion
In what seems to be a streak of bad luck for the Hellenic Empire, Persia, who may have collaborated with the Gothic peoples, invades Hellenic-held Mesopotamia, demanding the return of Mesopotamia to Persia. The Hellenic troops in the area, though few, fight well, and the Persians are kept from crossing the River Tigris. The Persians have also sustained heavy losses in two separate attempts to bridge the river.
-30,000 Persians
-10,000 Hellenes
The Holy Land
The Egyptians have poured into the Kingdom of Judah, bent on reconquering the various holy sites in the nation. The Hebrews of Judah, however, have rallied around Jerusalem and kept the Egyptians away from the city, though Egypt made great advances elsewhere. The Hebrews have refused to believe that the Egyptains would give them religious freedom never before have the Egyptians or any other nation acknowledged them. The Egyptians have also seized some Hebrew ships in port along the coast.

-10,000 Hebrews, -25 ships
Arianism
