I voted yes, but all the D&D I can have now are from PC games (mostly SP, a little bit online)... my boardgaming buddies no longer play D&D.

I played a little back in high school. It was quite fun. Especially finding the loopholes in the rulesets and arguing over them. ;)

I made a map, and I played it with a friend once, I read the books, and I learned the rules, but I realise that I should have selected "I did" instead of "Yes".

I play D&D every once in a while, but I also play more than that. GURPS is a great system, too.

My dorm neighbor basicly whined until I played.

It was okay I guess, but I think I spent more time mocking things with the other player he forced then actually playing.

Sounds like you had a crappy GM. A good game experience is dependent on a good GM.

GM? Guardian Master or something? Do you mean DM? Dungeon Master?

Oohh... This thread makes me want to pull out some creature books... AHA! I have an idea- why don't we have a game in the forum games section where we get a dungeon master an some explorers to play a game of D&D. What do you think? Is that a feasible idea? I'd be willing to be the DM if no one else wishes to step up to the plate.

I've wanted to, but never bothered to learn the rules or search for a friend who plays.

I never played D&D because I'm too lazy to learn the rules. That said I call necromancer or lich!

I don't know the rules too well, but, I'd be happy to play a game in forum games. It would be fun. Do you think we could let new people play, and teach them as we go along?

The most D+D I've played is the demo on the Wizards of the Coast website. Someday I certainly want to play it. I like models and have these mostly unpainted warhammer guys lying around I will get to dusting off next week.

My PnP D&D experience started with AD&D... and stopped with AD&D as well. I've played the 3E games (NWN, ToEE remake) and have read about 3E and 3.5E online, but I don't think I'm really familiar with the rules.

Also I own only the AD&D books - CD version. It contains only the core books. The tight space and humidity of HK aren't good for collecting books.

I'm sure that would be excellent. The only thing is that we must get an absolutely brilliant dungeon master to refresh the memories of some, and teach the basics of the game.

If anyone has played plenty of D&D, and is good at being a Dungeon Master, please tell us now. We need a good one for our forum game.

Nope, Game Master. It's the default term for roleplaying games in general.

Well, we once had a D&D game on the forums with meas a DM... it failed horribly.

played it, loved it. although in all honesty, I prefered Rune Quest. could never get anyone to play it with me though as I got older. my friends grew out of it

If we are to start a game here, perhaps we could use some published modules... like those from TSR or WotC. Then the DM's work would be easier - efforts concentrated on running the content instead of creating new ones. We can move on to self-created content once our DMs gets better at it.

Also we'll need the players to commit to reading the thread frequently... or allow DM to assign actions if a player takes too long. Otherwise the game will break down due to people losing interest.

BTW:  at PrinceScamp's new avatar. Nice one.
