The easiest thing is to wait 18 turns and support Non-proliferation Resolution. Brazil has no Veto power, regular vote will surely pass even with Latino (and possibly Muslim) opposition. Geopolitical situation is such that nuclear club guys mostly interested in preserving status quo, while my UN block will do everything to slow down Manhattan Project building by anyone in general, not just Latinos. This is our official strategy and I disclose it for everyone to know.

I will PM US, UK, France, China and Russia closer to voting date, it may take 1-2 month in real time before we even get there :( . If our four players agree about that resolution in principle -- current world order means that it is done deal. academia then will be in serious disadvantage -- imagine all those 18-turn worth hummers invested for nothing. Ban Ki-Moon once again cordially dissuades Latinos from that move. I can bet all of Japan's gold -- this will not be a winning strategy.

The delegate from Russia would state that this outlook does not please Mr. Putin. You expect to wait a year and a half before passing a resolution that may or may not actually be enforced?? Even if it takes them that long to get nuclear, the Latinos can easily just ignore the resolution and continue building nuclear weapons. We can't wait until after they have defied the resolution, which isn't guaranteed to pass anyway, to then start preparing plans to do something about a quickly escalating nuclear problem. This is something that needs to be addressed now before the actual nuclear warheads are pointed in our direction. Our MIG flyovers have confirmed that the Latinos have 3 sources of Uranium, already mined and ready to go. It won't take 18 turns to build the Manhatten Project in a production city, then a nuclear production facility with a Great Engineer, then start producing the cheaper and mobile tactical nuclear weapons! I can tell you from experience that it doesn't take 18 months/turns to start building a stockpile of nuclear weapons if they are focused on that goal!

Mr. Putin will just need to call an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Counsel himself...

Resolutions are in game resolutions, not players decisions, once passed nobody can build nukes.

What happened to the "ignore resolution" which triggers auto-war? Is that not in this scenario? If so, that doesn't seem very realistic!

Not ignore, but Defy! Same as Veto! Sure it is there, that's why we have House Rule. Your Russia can Defy/Veto any resolution like in real life, but your Vietnam cannot (even though the option will be available, the mod is not aware about real life SC ) :)

Yeah and by the way with all human game there will be no auto war. Players would need to decide for themselves :) Imagine if US go to war with Russia and China everytime they veto resolution about Syria or Iran?:crazyeye:

kiwitt I edited the wbs file and for the Russia china and us sections I put team=0 and it said you have been defeated upon loading it.
(pm me I don't want this thread becoming off-topic)

Oh ok, I re-read the house rule and now I understand. So the Latinos would not be allowed to defy the nuclear non-proliferation vote. I was thinking of the regular BTS where if you defy a resolution the AI's declare war on you. Obviously thats not how the real world works, but thats how regular BTS works...

Understood...

I remember defying A resolution In one of my games and the ai didn't declare war is it just for the nuclear resolution or what?

My understanding about defying resolutions in vanila AI games is that some backers of resolution have higher chance to declare on you. But almost nothing is 100% probability in BTS, which is good, I guess. Human logic is completely different, we can make peace the very next turn we declared war, while AI starts talking to you in 10-12 turns, for example.

Pardon the delay it has been brought to my attention that I broke a House Rule regarding Civic changes. I must correct these changes tonight and sent to turn on.

My apologies for the problem

Thank you very much for such a responsible behavior :) Remember Pyramids apply to ALL your civs, so they all have Government Civics available to them, but ONLY that one, until you discover Future Tech!

Taiwan will arrive the last, at the very end of turn cycle. From Hercules of China.

Barbarians (the only AI civ) play between turns, so you will always be able to see what they did to you, unlike any other players. ;) And believe me your troubles in Afghanistan are far from over. You will see what I mean after you hit End of turn on your Taiwan's turn.

You will also see how October 2010 becomes Nov 2010 while game generates American save for you. So you will be the first to witness any event that happened to our beloved Earth. Like earthquakes or UN vote results. So keep us updated if you see anything funny :)

what actually happened in Afghanistan?

happy new years! We hope that this year will be filled with peace and prosperity ,although russia and brazil could ruin that hope. :nuke: :p

The united states is getting nervous with the nuke stationed in Havana we kindly ask that you move it to one of Venezuela's other cites remember the Cuban missile crisis.

Another proof of the western world double standard.
so... it is wrong to place a nuke in Cuba near the US border, but it´s ok to put it in Venezuela, in the UNASUR border? nice...

no comments from the UN on this, right?
