Daghie´s Open Speed Space Civ 1

Does anyone mind if I play 10 turns from the last save available (1360AD). This means replaying Overseer turns but I hate to see this game die so close to the end. I will wait until tomorrow for your replies, and them I'll play.

Go for it. The turns I played that were lost were building and such, so it's not a terrible loss. Basically it was getting ready to build the spaceship as the techs became available. Have fun!

I played 10 turns. Nothing much to report - I built a lot of aqeducts, courthouses, libraries and marketplaces. Also we got Pentagon, Universal Suffrage and Wall Street. I've got 2 techs and we are 1 turn away from tanks. Hoarded some money fore future deficit resarch. Victory is in sight as we can do 4 turns techs from now on. Hope sombody will pick this up.

I'll play a couple to get this bad boy rolling again.

Something must have happened to DS_Legionary. It has been over a month since his 'gotit'. I think he 'lostit'. :D
Spoiler :

From 1410 AD; only the highlights.

1 1410 AD

Hired some hard-hats; segregate workers and slaves into separate stacks.
Build Allegheny 2.
[IBT]
Motorized Transport -> Flight (last tech needed in this age) in 6 at 50%.

2 1415 AD

Rail and mine.
Science to 80% and Flight in 4.

5 1430 AD

We enter a new age, one rarely seen in SG History: The Modern Age!
Start on Rockerty, due in 6.

The Colossus becomes obselete due to Flight.

6 1435 AD

Grand River builds Stock Exchange in 3 turns. This might be a good place for Apollo Program.
[IBT]
Ottomans want to renegioate peace. Seems a good idea, so we agree.

10 1500 AD

[IBT]

And the save is attached to this post.

Every mountain is roaded except two. These two have 23 workers each, which can road (5 WT), rail (9 WT) and mine (9 WT) in one turn.
We have 1 unroaded plains; it has 3 slaves on it to build a road next turn.

I spend most of my time on roading, railing and mining mountains. I did not get done.

Grand River has a palace prebuild for Apollo Program (Space Flight).

We learn Rocketry in 2 turns at 100% science, +25 gpt.

There are fortified Workers and Slaves, a Settler and an Army around Agade (on the Southwest Pennisula).

I was always hoping that this game would be picked up and finished. Y'all might get it done before Christmas '08.

I almost had forgotten this one. Yeah, some of us hard core SGers ought to launch this puppy sometime. Maybe during some break in my various SGs. The Rat series is on hold, I just finished my almost certainly last turn in SGFN05, why I may even do a set this weekend:)

Not until TT01 is done :)

I'll be waiting to see if someone plays a few turns. But I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble or anything...

And Rod01....hmm, wonder what CBob04's status is? I am certifiable, y'know, playing in so many SGs:lol:

How do I love Civ? Let me count the SGs: :crazyeye:
  1. Myth01- Training Day- Regent
  2. Rod1- Something Enjoyable
  3. eldar08: Gridlocked!
  4. SSG01 - Succession Story Game - Holland to Hydrae
  5. Multi-Team Demogame II - Team Free's loose nut and occasional Turn Player
  6. SGOTM 13 - Recently ended but #14 is somewhere in the future, I'm sure
  7. CBob04 Achtung Panzer!
Add to this list a very slow paced Hall of Fame attempt (Monach, Huge, Pangea, 100K Culture), this SG and Space 4 - Mystery game , which hasn't seen any activity since last December.

Then factor in that my mother-in-law now wants to sleep in the room where my PC is located and that she thinks that 8pm is bedtime. And to be fair to her, there are only two bedrooms upstairs, ours and what used to be my son's room. Grandma has normally slept downstairs for the last 14 years, but just recently got a bit clingy.

So I overextended myself, even though I knew better.

Glad that this "orphaned" SG got finished by someone. Maybe someday another one I was involved with may get finished.

It was Elear 01: Civ2 in Civ3. It died partly because of some bad blood and partly because its founder disappeared. The goal was to win as space or conquest only, ala Civ2. I was the only one left that would have continued.
