Shakespeare's Theater works like a hospital. This is a second reason why this is a key wonder to 20k victories. Not only do you get lots of cpt, but you get much production by getting it to size 20 with adding workers, which means you can usually get another late medivial wonder (Smith's, Newton's, Magellan's) after that.

Of course, this should be known when you enter a 20 k game as it is key to winning. There are two great 20k articles in the war academy.

Heh, I managed to achieve 20K demigod victory without reading them and not knowing about ST hospital ability. It is Great Blue-eyed Wonder by itself. ;)

Turn 0, 1675 AD:
Turn down research to 60%. I'd rather rush some stuff with the money.

IBT: Coal deal runs out. I renew for 54 gpt and 63 gp. Expensive, but the only way.

Turn 1, 1680 AD:
nothing special

Turn 2, 1685 AD:
Found Richmond on s coast.

IBT: Germany declares on India. How funny.
Delhi flips. We lose both rubber tiles.

Turn 3, 1690 AD:
I declare war on India.
Capture Delhi. This time they're going to starve.

Turn 4, 1695 AD:
Found Exeter at an uworked tile close to our core.
Disband the Man-o-wars to lower unit cost.

Turn 5, 1700 AD:
Enough workers built to rail most of our realm before the coal deal with Germany expires.

IBT: Oil deal runs out. No real possibilities to renew.

The following turns are used for railroading.

Turn 8, 1715 AD:
Make peace with India.


This will be very close, but I think we have a slight chance. We are about 130 turns from 20k in Jerusalem. Spain should get its spaceship started a bit sooner, but if we can slow them down a bit there is a perspective.

What we need to do is:
a) Mob up on Spain together with Germany. This will also prevent Germany from declaring on us.
b) Destroy Madrid.

This should better be sooner as destroying Madrid will hurt Spains research severely.
I built a few battleships for that purpose. A carrier, some fighters and transports along with marines will do. We also need a new oil deal, but what they wanted from us these turns is just outrageous.

Pre-Turn: Sign a MPP with Germany. Declare on Spain.
IT: Germany declares on Spain. Palace improvement. Canterbury, Houston, and San Francisco all riot due to the lux deal ending. Brighton gets heavily bombed.
1752 AD: Set slider to 5/4/1.
IT: Spain lands several troops near Brighton.
1754 AD: Brighton is undefended so I abandon it to keep it out of Spain’s hands.
1756 AD: Set slider to 6/3/1.
1758 AD IT: Flight>Fission. One of our Battleships was sunk by an unknown force (read submarine).
1760 AD: Zzzz

0) 1760: Ok, we can win by 1983--128 turns away. I don't know if Germany would be able to build the starship by then. The uni should double culture now, bringing us up to 75/turn. What really chafes is that we don't have any oil. How are we to destroy Madrid if we don't have the ships to get us there? And how did we lose Reading? I assume it flipped...

Actually, we don't seem to be in that bad of shape. Germany in fascism will have the tech pace slow to a crawl. Jerusalem has 10446 culture, Madrid has 11858. The big question--how much culture is Madrid getting per turn. Madrid has 9 wonders, Jerusalem 7. I turn down science to run at surplus. I cancel the coal deal--we have everything railroaded that needs to be. Oil is the big necessity now. We save 54 gpt. We get oil and fur by coughing up Mass Pro, 600 + 25/turn. Switch builds to tanks and bombers. Also need a carrier to get them close to Spain.

Disband cavs to lower unit costs. We need infantry for defense and tanks for offense. You may note some places are not railroaded. This is ok, this is to even out city population. Nothing I hate more than being on an odd amount of food, city grows, can't produce any more food, then dies off, repeating the cycle.

1) 1762: We can build Battle Med now, that'll give Jerusalem more culture. Something attacked our Manowar IBT--a Spanish sub?

2) 1764: Germany has taken Cordoba on South Spain island. They also make peace with India. A Spanish fleet moves off the ne coast. They land 5 cav and a guerilla outside Calcutta. Artys and tanks shred them and redline the fleet. Unfortunately, no bombers are in position to finish off the ships. I turn lux down to 0, have to adjust some cities and a few build temples to fend off unhappiness. But it does speed up research to the UN. Update: Jerusalem has 10596, Madrid has 12002.
We are making 75 culture/turn, Madrid 72, but we still need to KO Madrid to make sure of the win.

3) 1766: Germany has put some cav along the southern border. Yer not thinkin' of a stab, are ya Otto?

4) 1768: Nothing unusual.

5) 1770: Germany wants to trade maps, we throw in Motors. I don't think so. I'm getting worried about a stab. I hate to do it, but perhaps I can trade them motors for lots o' cash and luxes. Otto will pay 1150 straight up for Motors, forget about any luxes. I don't like that price.

6) 1772: Bombay riots and Calcutta is hit with pollution.

7) 1774: Keep on buildin'.

8) 1776: Jerusalem finishes Battle Med. Yipes, Germany moved into the
MA and picked up Fission! They're starting the UN and Manhattan. Spanish fleet shows up again, this time we send it to Davy Jones' locker.

9) 1778: India and Spain sign MPP. India declares on the Germans. Place your bets, people.

10) 1780: Due to MPP with Germany, we must declare war on India. Whatever.

The plan: Ideally, I would like to get at least 10 transports loaded up with a mix of tanks, infantry, arty, and flak. Have Battleships as escort, and bring along several carrier groups of bombers as well. Also, if we attack from the east we will have to go thru their offshore islands and will face heavy cover. Therefore, I plan to come from the west, go up to the north polar cap, round North Spain and come at Madrid from that way.

Nice good-swinging jazzrock without too much edge, if I remember correctly. Though I like that stuff I usually turn it off and put something more aggressive in :D.
