One of the most strong candidate of cause of CTD in Civ4, and only one that I experienced was graphic error. But you are available to play basic RFCD, so I don't think that's the problem.


Would you please try these two mods? (One is earlier version of the same mod, and another is Australia mod.) Please let me know the results.

Okay, it will take a while because I will have to delete and repaste clean 1.12 RFC DOC mods for each to work and to make sure it isn't corrupted from something left over. Might be an hour or so.
 
So I sorta fell asleep :p The Australian mod works fine, I still need to try the older Decolonization mod.
 
I tested 1.12.01 or whatever the one you gave me is called, and it doesn't work either. Just Australi is fine. Could it be connected to the Boers?
 
That might be a important hint for the problem. :)

Now it's sleeping time for this timezone here, so I'll come back and continue to figure out few hours later.

Would you please check whether you can see 'Paul Kruger' leaderhead graphics properly in civpedia? It will be nice if you can also check 'Nelson Mandela' leaderhead, 'Kommando' Boer UU and 'Plass' Boer UB in civpedia.

Please let me know if there's any abnormality.
 
Okay so I didn't change anything, and suddenly 1.12.02 loads fine... The turns are still counting down but I loaded as the Boers and it's doing the turn timer thing. Very weird :confused:

Uploaded new version. Graphic and text update, and older saves will not work so you might keep using older version if you don't need such things. Please let me know if you found any kind of error or abnormality. CPP files didn't changed, so cpp zip is still 1.12.02 version.

Now I will look for possible new civilizations, especially looking for history of Kilwa Sultanate and Omani empire.

They both sound amazing! You're considering them as separate civs? Or as the same one?

To answer first one, I need to study their history more ;)

For second one, sorry but no. It only compatible with RFCD v1.12.
 
I'm interested all the civs, but I decided to focus on filling empty areas of the map first. So that Euro civs cannot take empty areas as colony for free, and make more diversity.

About other people's civ addition mods, they were good but I wonder I can actually take their works. Even if I get permissions, merging it into other mods requires almost same amount of works with starting from nothing.
So the main problem is my slow working speed as a newbie coder, game maker and balancer. I'm glad that Australia and Boer works well and now I can look for other civs, but on the other hand, I'm worried how long it will take to add it. Furthermore, I wonder whether I can keep it compatible with RFCD main mod or not when the modmod gets bigger.
 
However, still I'd love to see the modern reformed nations in game. (I hope modders come back to making additional civ modmods :))

Total overhaul of the Eastern Asia will be nice. If we can make proper mechanics to represent nomadic civs and add them, playing Chinese, Mongolian, and Korean civs will become much interesting.
